I s'pose this fits into this thread... What did I do today? Sat down in Salma's (Fields?) in a bunch of leaves and listened to the rain. Indeed.
SO i had one of my worst moments and one of my best moments of WvW (fun wise).
So bad moment: There was a patch/restart that happened and after that I was fighting in "the ruins" of one of the borderlands. After the fight, I notice 2 graves that you can interact with, and I never noticed them before. So I examine them and after reading them, 2 veteran ghosts pop up and its a DE. One I haven't seen before and 'm pretty sure its new and I'm pretty sure I'm the first to trigger it.
Well I start fighting them, eventually kill one of them and get the other one low on hp. When an invader comes in to fight me; but I think, ok I can do this, plus I should be able to kill the ghost to see what happens when I do. BUT!!! turns out the invader was a mesmer and poof, 10 more popped out of the portal. Those jagoffs portal bombed a single players in the ruins. I don't know if they were practicing or just having fun but I was pissed because I didn't get to see what happens in the DE AND I didn't get any rewards for it. Brought some friends over there later and they couldn't ineract with them, even on a different BL.
Now good moment...SOR zerg takes our north most camp and are ruinning out east. Well one of their players is an underlevel ranger that isn't keeping up. I'm kinda mad they flipped our upgraded camp so I decided to chase him down and kill him. And I do eventually catch up to him around the centaur camp and we start fighting. When all of a sudden (a lvl 80) SOR thief pops out of stealths and now I'm fighting 2 on 1. Crazy battle ensues and I stomp the thief eventually and can focus on the ranger again; when 2 seconds later ANOTHER SoR thief runs in and now it's a 2 on 1 again, and I'm on major cooldown by now. EPIC battle ensures where I down the ranger (but not stomp) and then finally take down the thief (lvl 80 also) and stomp him by but this time the ranger has rallied so I have to fight him again; so out of all 3 the underleveled ranger technically lasted the longest. Finally stomp him and all there bodies are laying around and I did a nice little bow to them. Suprised I didn't get any whispers after that one.
I've noticed the vet ghosts (archer and warrior) before, I think they got added with Lost Shore, but I didn't know how you triggered them I've just been there and they've poped up or I've been running through and saw them so I figured they were on a timer like the Harpy or warg, guess someone else actually triggered them.
And wow, just wow, portal bombing a solo person. What did you do to piss them off so much early
That actually makes me feel better...if its just a "regular" DE then I don't mind missing the money/xp. I was afraid it was something not easily replicated. 90% of time I'm on my own servers BL so I don't mess around in the ruins too much...either fighting or slapping yaks so this was my first time actually paying attention to those graves.
That guy (or guys) that keeps posting the threads about cheap PC's has some of my best posts but they're always deleted. Todays had a "rap" I came up with off top of my head in few seconds that I liked but now it's gone.
I need professional hep.
