    Guardian Traits

    Hello ,
I feel that I could use some advice to allocate my trait points so I'm posting here so I could get some up-to-date suggestions from you good players. I have studied and read all sorts of posts on all of the websites but they are geared towards the level 80 characters & the information is generally 30 days old or more, so I feel rather lost where to put my points for my level.
My Guardian is level 60 as of last night, and I got my Master Training book so my trait points have been reset and I'm not sure where to go with it all. (50 points to spend) I was studying the choices last night and this morning and they all seem good and bad at the same time. The tool tip descriptions always confuse me.

I play PVE/solo and have no real interest in dungeons, PvP or WvW. I just strap on my boots and go out and kill stuff. I join any event I see and run along with anyone going my way, doing hearts and exploring.
I use a Greatsword/Mace-Focus but I carry a Staff and Scepter for events. I focus my stats towards Power/Precision/Crit, then Vitality and Toughness just kinda trying to keep a balance.
I use Signet of Resolve-Judges Intervention-Purging Flames-either Hold the Line or Stand your Ground-and Renewed Focus. This line-up seems to work well enough for me but I am open to other suggestions.

I'm looking for traits that help my Guardian kill effectively and still survive to pick-up the loot.

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

Well, if you like crits Vigorous Precision seems kind of a no-brainer (and it's very cheap to get). Paired with Selfless Daring you get lots of dodgerolls that heal you a bit, both of which up your survivability. A lot of people like Altruistic Healing for survivability. It works better for groups but you do count as an ally for the heal component. Enjoy channeling Empower in the middle of a group and watching the heals roll in if you try it, lol.

A utility I've fallen in love with is Wall of Reflection. It REALLY shines in WvW but it's awesome even in PvE against almost any ranged mob, especially if you have a ranged weapon on you (I usually have staff for mob tagging + swiftness.)

There's my rambly suggestions. My guardian is just 60 but I've done a lot of playing around in the mists.

Not to sound like a non-answer, but two things that might influence you...

    1. Big prof (buff/nerf) updating patch coming next week so things may change.
    2. If you go into the mists you can respec all day long for free and try out abilities against NPCs and practice dummies to see what you like/how things work.

If you ever do want to change the guy that sold you the books also offers a respec for a couple silver, so not horrible if you want to change down the road.
