Thread: Losing Client Connection?

    Losing Client Connection?

So... I've been playing GW2 for about a week now. For the first couple days, it was running perfectly. Now, I can't take ten steps without the client losing connection to the server. I'm pretty sure it's just a problem with my internet, but since nothing's changed and it WAS working perfectly well, I'm curious if it could be a problem on ANet's end. Any ideas?

I've reset the computer. I've disabled the firewall (even though I allowed the GW2 client access) and it's still losing connection every second. That is, unless I'm in an instance. Sometimes playing with the settings can fix it. I don't understand though... My internet connection is fine. It was working perfectly 2 days ago. This has made the game unplayable. GRRR >=(

You should file a ticket on the official forum, and good luck with that!

I did... BUUT they want me to install 2 different things and really mess with the computer. Which I can't do, because it's not my computer.

Last night, I realized that I was still on youtube on my computer, and closed it. That kept the client on my step-mom's computer connected to the server long enough for me to actually get things done =)

    I'm just venting =/

This has been happening to me as well. No where near your frequency though. It may happen 3 times in 4 hours.

Careful bro. It started like that for me. Then I DC'd every time I switched toons. Then every 30 seconds. Then every 10 steps. Then it wouldn't load period >=(

...Ok, I may be exaggerating a bit. It started happening once in a while, then the more I kept trying to play it, the less time it took to DC. To the point where the client would just close itself before it would load anything.

eeww, I figured it was on my end as I play through a 4G LTE Droid and have wierd issues. Atleast they stopped asking me to varify who I am as my IP changes everytime I log in...
