Makes me wonder why you have been hanging around here so long bitching about GW2. If you don't like it then move the hell on, go play something you do like. Get a hobby, go out to the pub and make some friends, there is a whole world of things to do that don't involve complaining on a fan forum about a game you don't like.
I have openly said there are decent things about this game, I enjoy the forums here and I enjoy the constructive arguments and discussions here.

Don’t cry because I am not praising the game in every sentence I write.

I loved WOW. There was nothing more fun than being on Vent with 40 people clearing Molten Core. I was the Main Tank healer. I loved LOVED the healing role. I was a Horde Priest on Perenolde and dare I say one of the best.

The problem was the scheduling. I couldn't handle the amount of time it took to get somewhere.

In this game getting the Melandru set is difficult, takes time, but not as much time as things in Wow took and I don't need 40 of my friends to do it.

Needless to say since I love healing I am an Elementalist and have 30 points In Water Traits. ;-)

Also, Sericenthe my Guild Wars 2 name for my Elementalist comes from the name of my Horde Priest on Perenolde.

There is a difference between not praising the game and bashing it every chance you get. There have been plenty of things I have complained about in the game but if I hated it as much as you seem to by the way you post I wouldn't still be here.

Anyway I'm done arguing with you, I saw the quality of your character in the instaban thread, which if I remember correctly you stated you would be quitting the game. If you enjoy spending your time dwelling on things you don't like then bash away, I personally have better things to do with my time than to deal with you.

I loved WoW and played it off and on for like 6 years from back when the level cap was 30 in early beta to a little after cataclysm which I think ruined the game. At no point in that entire time did I feel like the best part of the game was being max level. I probably brought a dozen or more characters to max level in WoW and every single time I hit max level I was bored of that character within 3 months. An endless gear grind just is not an entertaining end game.

As long as GW2 keeps releasing content at a decent pace I'll be happy with it for a long time. The basic game is extremely well made (something free MMOs usually can't say). No open PvP is a huge negative for me so yeah that has really hurt the experience and I do only play 1 hour sessions usually because of how boring that makes PvE. No game is perfect and I can live with that.

I still play WoW and my view is slightly different from the OP.

No open world pvp, to me means an escape from continuous ganking so I can level a character in peace and WvWvW when I want, instead of having to give in and swop to a care bear realm when it gets too much.

No real questing. I don't get railroaded along quest lines that mean I have to follow the proverbial yellow brick road through areas, I can go where I want, when I want and do what events I want.

Downleveling to the appropriate level for the zone, when i do get to 80 I am not limited to the one or two realms that have been made for the high level characters, I can go back and explore the other zonrd and still feel as if I belong there, no getting ignored by mobs or one-shotting everything.

Not focusing on endgame, I seem to get bored when I hit level cap in WoW, there isn't enough interesting things to do. Crafting is pointless, everyone can get better items from dungeon drops so AH prices are rediculously low and you tend to need materials that are only available through dungeons if you want to make the high end gear.

Dungeon and raids are boring and unsociable, if you don't have the gear you get moaned at and probably kicked from the group, but you have to grind the dungeons to get the gear to do the dungeon, its seems to be a bit of a catch 22 to me. Everyone has a set role, tank stands and gets hit, melee dps stand by mob and hit it, ranged dps stand back and hit it and the healer stands around twiddling their thumbs and throwing out a quick heal when needed. In GW2 you make your own role, if you want to heal it is possible but different from a dedicated healer, be prepared to be rezzing others a lot, use conditions that will mean the mobs can't hit you while you are rezzing someone and sometimes the fastest way to get some one up is to kill the mob that downed them. Sure everything seems chaotic, but if you learn what you can do it is possible to add order to the chaos, it just isn't easy.

And then there is the daily grind. I haven't got to level cap in MoP yet, I enjoy leveling too much, and I am still trying to workout what they have done to all my classes, my hunter seems to just be a 2 button wonder now, but I have tried Wrath and Cata dailies, never really got a lot from them they just get so boring, go and collect apples around Stormwind, or crabs from the canals, careful you might drown if you fall asleep doing it. Or Firelands dailies, go kill half a dozen of these big critters that really you need raid level gear to take down and while you are at it they drop an item that that person over there wants.

I still play WoW for all of its faults, and still enjoy it, but I can play more than one game so I start the evening with GW2, faster paced, having to think, and react in a fight, then after a couple of hours I will change to WoW, put my brain in neutral and go out and kill things by just pressing a button or two, and follow the arrow that leads me through the quests, nice and relaxing, and I don't have to think too much.

As others have said before me, no game can please everyone, if you don't find GW2 fun, but still enjoy WoW, then have fun playing WoW, I read the WoW forums too, and there are plenty there that seem to thinl GW2 is dreadful, so you arn't alone. Its only a game at the end of the day.

I played WoW for 4 years and absolutely loved it. I got MoP and didn't mind the Pandaren at all, and loved Pandaria. What I did really love most in WoW was leveling. And then they went and ruined it with Cross Realm Zones. So, I un-subbed.

Now I'm playing GW2 more and more (and Civ 5 ), and I really appreciate how it's a co-operation game, instead of a competition game (like WoW). Everyone gets to gather their own stuff, and loot the mobs etc. And everyone helps with Elites and DEs and revives people out in the World. It's really a breath of fresh air after so many years of WoW.

    Cheers.

All I have to say, is:

"Oh man! You totally spent $60 on a giant multiplayer game and NOTHING ELSE. You ended up hating it. What a terrible investment. What ever shall you do?! Hopefully when you sell your car to buy food and pay bills for a few months you'll remember this lesson of buying a new game and consider if it's worth it or not in the future".

Seriously, I don't think people realize how cheap gaming is compared to most hobbies out there. What a joke.

If you go into WvW and aren't grouping up most of the time, you're doing it wrong. (yes you can solo, but you're not ninja stealing a keep solo or defenidng against 10 invaders solo) In dungeons you will group. In s/tpvp, you will need to make groups and have voice com if you want to be good. It doesn't have the trinity no, but man, if that caught you by suprise in this game, I'm not sure what to say.
I was gonna say the same things these guys said and, like others have stated, just about everything you list as a negative I see as a positive... I love that there are sooo many games out that you can choose the ones that fit you best, this one isn't one of those for you, it is for me. Good luck in your search for yours.

your comment is very disrespectful and uncalled for, he is expressing his opinion and you dont need to berate him
