    Sorrow's Embrace Story Mode

I have for a couple of days now been spending some time each time I log on trying to find a group for this dungeon and everyone wants explore mode, is there no one in the game that wants to do story mode any more? Just got to level 62 and it seems near impossible that I will find a group to do this dungeon with.

Has anyone else had troubles finding a group for this specific dungeon? I feel like this is the only one that I have had problems with

I was in the same predicament. I had to wait in Lion's Arch for at least 2 hours at a time trying to form a PUG for this Dungeon and more than halve of those times after waiting for over 2 hours I gave up.

I had to go through draining ordeals like that for each of my 5 characters as each are over lvl 60 and need to do SE (edit: story mode). Finally all 5 characters have now successfully completed SE (edit: story mode).

I've run this dungeon twice in the last two weeks in story mode, to help guildies. Finding a helpful guild is always going to be better for finding parties for something like this than pugging.

This is true. But I feel like this happened waayy too fast. It's only been a few months, even SWTOR dungeons lasted longer than this before they turned into "You're only gonna find runs with a guild/friend group".

I wonder why its like this already, is there really just that much else to do in this game. or are some dungeons just not worth it. maybe the in game population is just starting to dwindle down already, which I find hard to believe because this seems like such a successful game and still brand new...

    so then where is everybody?

Dungeons seem like they're only there for people who really enjoy dungeons. But the people that really like dungeons are already doing explorable modes, so there's no reason for us to do story mode. Usually the normal modes for dungeons in other games are ran by mostly casuals, it just doesn't seem like they care.

Which is really lame because the dungeons are actually reaaaallly good aesthetically and story wise. I mean the Iron Forgeman encounter is nuts for a random boss that's not end-game. It looks like a raid boss and with the exception of being able to die and run back, the mechanics are raid-like mechanics. It's a really fun fight, extremely well designed and feels well thought out. But it has crappy rewards so people don't care.

Usually dungeon loot gives you an edge in the leveling process, it's usually not a required edge but it generally will make leveling a lot faster if you get a dungeon weapon or some armor pieces. That isn't the case here. The lacking need for gear to level seems to have hurt that part of the game. The global economy has too.

Items are so dirt cheap that if you actually want something better you don't even need to put any effort into it. Drop like 10s in the TP and bam, you've got a new mid-level set.

I just run guild groups basically. I just encounter trouble when I try to get a group without the guild.

As far as rewards, the whole thing is odd to me. I don't get why people care so much. I never pay attention to what gear I might get by running a dungeon. Story mode and explorable mode are equally rewarding for me because they're both challenging and fun.

It's so backwards though >< pugs for Explorable modes are usually anywhere between decent to amazing, pugs for story modes are god damn awful / nonexistent.

It's funny how everyone says TA explorable path 2 is "so hard" and it is a challenge especially with those knights, but as a thief as I was able to scorpion wire one knight at a time. The party was a necro, ranger, thief (me), and a couple of engineers and it went really well. I had a bit of trouble when we had two knights, but I lived since I have 30 in acrobatics and 15 in shadow arts and spec so that I wash away conditions while in stealth.

However, the fire golem in Sorrow's Embrace story mode was a bit too much (was a completely different group other than me). We had three thieves including myself, which is like hardmode, a guardian, and a warrior. I was the only 80, I would dodge the fire only to get hit anyway, so I'd tough out the first fire, then heal in the second, but everyone kept going downed =( On the way to Grenth those risen knights all evade in unison and in harmony like a well coreographed machine, and I think that's what we need in SE story mode. Was helping a guildie with it and it seems way overtuned.

Yeah the fire golem is the WORST. It's beyond annoying. It's the hardest part of the dungeon for sure. I think they need to tune down the damage, at least a bit, certainly for a story mode dungeon.
