Hi everyone my name is karl and I'm an 18 year old guy from Ireland. I finally bought gw2 and my computer decided to die on me.. ;( so I haven't started playing yet... I'm looking for a bit of advice on what I should do.. I'm an experienced mmo player and If I join a faction I like I'm dedicated to the max.. I love PVP an this WvWvW thing is giving me shivers just looking at it... I'm wondering what world I should join and Is there is any friendly helpful guilds out there who could help me become a good player and learn more about the game any advice would be appreciated

Some of the games I have played are WoW, lms , perfect world international, zhen pw, dragon quest and probably a few more that I can't remember.. :P

so I haven't started playing yet... I'm looking for a bit of advice on what I should do.. I'm an experienced mmo player and If I join a faction I like I'm dedicated to the max..

WvWvW is a server v server v server thing, no real factions ala a DAoC or WoW type.

CAUTION: Advice Ahead!
1. NEVER STOP MOVING (movement is king and use your dodgerollol
2. Try all the proffessions out in the "Mists" first. (Mists is the PvP prepping area, it bumps you to lvl 80 with best gear and all abilities, except racials, available. There are NPCs you can test on, dummies and sPvP (WoW battleground style). You can reach the mists by clicking on your PvP tab (crossed swords) and selecting "Goto The Mists" from anywhere in the game.
3. When traveling back to Lion's Arch or home city port to the Mists then go through the portal to LA, saves a lot of money.
4. gather everything (good money and it gives xp).
5. you can enter WvWvW at lvl 2 (straight out of tutorial) from anywhere by clicking the WvWvW tab (tower icon). It will bump you to lvl 80, but you will only have the skills you would normally have had and your armor will be crappy. You will be gimped but not to the point of useless. While in WvWvW you can lvl your actual lvls up gaining all your abilities and even save up marks to get end-game gear. So you never have to leave WvWvW if you don't want too.
6. Don't play computer games, walk outside and look around you live in IRELAND! j/king

Hi Karl! Welcome to the Forum! You will enjoy your stay. Sorry your computer died on you. There are some great folks here that can help you out, for example Toc . I am the explorer type and MMO noob lol lol and do not do sPVP or WvWvW but there are a lot that do and have a blast.

Hey crowgrrrl thank you for welcoming me to these awesome forums I know I'm going to enjoy it here.. I need someone to Rez my computer ASAP yeah Toc is awesome and I can't wait to explore and get used to the game before some PVP and WvWvW haha.. And I remember seeing 2 magpies when I was younger and my mum sat me down and explained that rhyme was an awesome day hehe I caaaaant wait for this!!
