Thread: Lost Shores - Kick Off

I enjoyed being in Lion's Arch for the kickoff. The cutscenes were fun, but I lagged so badly I was only able to get 1 of the items for the DE basket guy before it ended. Also, I'm a level 75 with level 60 gear ATM and I wasn't able to get many real hits on the level 80 mobs.

I've visited the 3 quest locations in Kessex Hills, Metrica Province, and Caledon Forest, but I haven't figured out how to complete the 3 quests. Could someone please give us a walkthrough on how to complete these quests? That would be great.

I also attended the DE at Morgan's Spiral, but there were so many people and I lagged so badly, I never saw even 1 karka throughout the event. lol

I don't know what Anet are thinking. This update was supposed to be a gamechanger, and it certainly has turned out to be, but I'm sure it's not in the way they hoped. At least 10 people from my guild have already uninstalled it and the site to get a refund (https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ap...9053/kw/refund) is broken with the amount of traffic. Way to go!

There was so much lag at the start of the event today, it was not even fun. 75% of skills used didn't even work because of the lag. I don't have a slow computer either. I had no problem moving around.

The 2000 GMT event on Fri sucked big time, you had massive lag, made it totally unplayable. It was pointless being there.

I don't understand why that was the case through, the halloween event went completely smoothly for me and was very enjoyable.

Having this Lost Shore event coupled with the invite a friend was a very bad idea. ANet have shot themselves in the foot by providing a poor experience so far with the event and alot of the invited friends are saying this game sucks...

Also, why, oh why have invite a friend when you introduce new lvl 80 content. I am talking Fractuals of the Mist dungeon here which is probably the best thing about the event so far, yet the new players giving it ago are low level, hence even through they are leveled up, chances are the experience will be bad for them.

    Halloween event 9/10

Lost Shores event (so far) 3/10

And yet with all the people leaving and uninstalling,. I've almost never seen more people in a game at one place at one time. And that has continued on into this evening.

Seems to me there are people who are calling it a disaster, and people who are absolutely loving it. The new dungeon is probably the most fun I've ever had in a dungeon in any game. It's terrific. Some of the other quest chains they've put out take a while to unravel, and I still haven't unraveled all of it, but it's still be fun.

I did get some input lag on the main event, but I was still able to kill over 50 karka and had a couple of decent drops. I did much better, dropwise in the new Fractal dungeon.

I see a lot of people saying they're leaving but I see a ton of people online, at least on my server.

I agree on the dungeon being good, start with the positive!

The quest chains, however, alot are bugged so can't be completed and when you do complete it the rewards are disappointing to say the least. The halloween scavanger hunts was alot better.

I killed over 50 karka as well and all I got was 1 green weapon drop, aload of samples, some shells/meat trophys and a grand reward of 2s for completing the event. Next time Lions Arch can burn to the ground or sink beneath the waves for all I care, I base all my characters in Divinitys Reach anyway...lol

Also, how many times did you die in that event? I died 4 times and they went like this:

18000 heath...due to lag nothing happens in between...your dead click on nearest portal x4. I learned my lesson then and killed from range at the fringes of the event...

I got the impression there where loads online initially and then loads logged off in disgust (or were disconnected).

So far its been a big disappointment for me, I wasn't there for the main event so I can't comment on that but the following quests have been bugged and no sight of them getting fixed. I tried play 8 hours ago the NPCs were bugged I went to sleep woke up and tried again but the one that I need is still bugged.

I am hoping today's event will make up for it.

I haven't tried addition stuff yet like the dungeon.
