Thread: Zhaitan sure was replaced easily.

    Zhaitan sure was replaced easily.

I just took the time to read the description for the finale of this weekends event.

"This is it: the final battle against the fierce Ancient Karka on the brand-new Southsun Cove map. Only the combined might of the heroes of Tyria has any hope against a creature this powerful, which means we need you!"

I mean, I'm one of the people that hated the Zhaitan fight and how he looked and etc etc etc. But it doesn't seem right that he's been replaced so easily. I guess whatever rules the crab-people is > elder dragons? ._.

    Rofl, seriously?

I actually enjoyed the Zhaitan fight, though, so I could be biased. Still, I'm pretty sure he should have remained a bigger bastard than a crab.

The crabs are likely the equivalent of the Risen, with Bubbles (the as of yet unofficially named Elder Dragon in the ocean) controlling them rather than Zhaitan.

Hmmm, in an MMO when people beat the old content, they make new content. Stop the presses. lo

Zhaitan reminded me of something from the only episode of Futurama I've ever seen - the one where they encounter a huge ball of garbage that a planet (might have been Earth) ejected into space. He just looked like a huge Katamari-esque ball of accumulated shit.

OH MAN! IT'S NOT LIKE ARTHAS OR ILLIDAN WERE MAIN VILLAINS FOR YEARS OR ANYTHING! And when they were finally put into the MMO they were given like a year and a half in the spotlight and only a handful of players got to kill them. Well, maybe not Arthas on that second part.

But still. You know. Actual bosses instead of bitches.

Replaced two months in by an event that only happens once. Hah, what a joke. Zhaitan is so dumb. Like, not even a joke as a boss or an encounter or anything. He's literally a joke, even to the developers apparently. So silly.

Meh, I always accept stuff in the game with a bit of lore. If Zhaitan was supposed to be the hardest boss to defeat then it is, even just in my mind when it was a pretty easy fight in actuality.

Tyria's just getting new threats. I don't think Karka are supposed to be tougher than the elder dragons, lore wise.

I killed Zhaitan. Was he supposed to be making some sort of triumphant return?

I honestly thought we might be heading into Kralkatorrik territory but I guess I was wrong(?).

What about Svanir? The "Champion" sons of Svanir and all their events can't be solo'd and can be relatively tough. But I can kill their God 5 times in one Forest of Niflhel match solo. I'm pretty sure the Dev's just don't care. It actually seems worse than WoW using WC3 characters for expansions as an excuse to include them and pump out content because it's been half-assed in GW2.

Welcome to the sliding scale of evil or power. I think said scale, instead of being a straight ramp, should have bumps and waves, as if to say, "You just beat a big bad, but these next few bosses aren't too bad and are actually smaller and weaker than him" and then BAM! The graph spikes right up again. You now need to drastically enhance your power level to stand a chance against this new threat in addition to learning a new strategy. New boss isn't quite the same as the old boss in this case.
