I really enjoyed the rest of the mechanics/story, got DC'd and when i rejoined i had to redo about another 4 waves and the chat was filled with thems frenchies.
All in all it was a blast.

I had fun. I felt like the Saturday event was a little meh. I showed up on time and it didn't even launch right on some servers (I was in Overflow it hadn't launched, went to my real server and it was in full effect)
That final push though was pretty cool. I had a lvl 32 character there and it was a lot of fun rolling around dropping bombs and throwing nades. I wasn't in it for the chest, I was in it for the experience and the fun. When people are like, what happened on that island with the Karka, I can say I was there and I helped

I was reading the official forums and it appears they handed out legendary precursor weapons like candy in the event loot chest. That's going to send a fissure crack through the economy.
I may have gotten some.. IDK what the Legendary Precursor weapons are. All the gear I got was like 30 to 50 lvls higher than my toon was. Only thing I could use was the 20 slot bag lol
I guess that depends on how many people actually where able to play at that time to get the loot chest. Time will tell, I suppose.
Given my old vid card, you might be right. Still, it would have been nice to be there. I missed all of the One Time Events during the Halloween event and now I've missed all the Lost Shores events. I like that they are putting out new content every month like this, but it's making me sick how much I'm missing just because some genius thinks that one time events are a good idea for an MMO, never mind that a huge portion of their player base won't get to experience it because they can't be logged on right at that time. I haven't even gotten on the game since I've arrived back in town, I was so angry about this.
A lot of people are pretty unhappy with how the last one time event went. Lots of disconnection issues, lag, FPS problems, and bugs. Some people managed to get to the end with the chest, only to find out they couldn't open it. Hardly anyone outside daylight time zones could or wanted to participate, but I suppose they would never be able to make everyone in every time zone happy with an event that only runs once. Which I why, personally, I think it should have run at least twice; once at noon (PST) and again at 6pm (PST).
Those problems aside it was... Alright. Three hours of Karka waves to kill. The rewards at the chest were great, though I only got a couple rares and nothing worth mentioning. I think everyone, even those under level 80, got a 20 slot box though.
Personally I think it could have been much better, but I realize even with extensive testing it's hard to predict the kind of problems that can arise when you have thousands of people trying to do it all at once.
Honestly the best part of this new update has been the new dungeon, imo. Someone put a lot of time and energy into it and it really shows. It's quite fun to explore it for the first time.

I had family visiting for most of the weekend. Any other time I wouldve played the whole event.
The annoying thing was the event timing. For us Aussies the one time event was on a Monday and my husband had to work. I think it was probably just another thing that has frustrated him with this game.
I logged on at 9am my time and was in a bugged overflow. We ended up having an Arenanet employee called Serena come and fix it for us. Then I went and did Fractals. I didnt realise I couldve done the event again on my Necro or Ele. Or even my husbands ranger.
I enjoyed the event but it was very long. Almost felt like I was back to the old Everquest raids.
Oh and one big suggestion for improving the events like this? Disable the fireworks and other things that idiot people use to lag others out!!
