Mashed Potatoes are boss... my cousin and I were notorious at family gatherings for eating them all between the two of us... and that tradition remains alive for me today! Of course, we don't go to the same gatherings much anymore, but I like to think he's still devouring the potatoes alongside me.

.....Never let modern day travesties harm the memory of greatness.

As much as I enjoyed it, I'm glad we don't have it here, there are already far too many occasions I have to buy people cards and gifts lol.
actually we invented it for them, started off in Canada bout 30 years before US and our very own Guy Fawkes celebrations is a form of Thanksgiving. God knows how long they've been a tradition for but they have more to do than just being greatful for the harvest, could be pretty much anything, thanks for a successful armed campaign or after an epidemic like a drought or plague etc. But todays is just an American thing, not like they celebrate Guy Fawkes so no need for us to interfere or care for theres unless you happen to be over there when it happens. I'm sure they'd love us to jump on the commercial bandwagon like with Halloween but don't see it happening for this one

The world is full of pain and sorrow.
Life is fleeting and true moments of joy are few and far between.
Happiness is laced with shards of pain.
