The world is full of pain and sorrow.
Life is fleeting and true moments of joy are few and far between.
Happiness is laced with shards of pain.
I don't think the gem shop thing has anything to do with the row. This sale has probably been in the works before this recent thing. They could have cancelled it, but what's the point.
One thing I'm pretty sure they wanted to be careful of is to make sure that it didn't look like the cash shop was a major priority. I mean it obviously is and has to be, but do they really want people thinking that way? It leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.
But a sale on Thanksgiving Weekend? Not too many people would complain about that.

Possibly because I've been in retail my entire life, I don't see this as anything out of the ordinary. You discount a quantity and you discount more off a higher quantity, you always advertise the discount off the base price, not the discounted price.
You don't advertise five of something for 10% off and then advertise ten of something for a discount on that 10%. You never advertise a discount off a discount. You advertise the discount off the single unit price. I've never seen it done otherwise anywhere.
No, I agree with you. But I'm saying the base price should be much lower, before the new discount. It's like one of those stores where you buy things in bulk; if you have four boxes of candy bars in four sizes ranging from smallest to largest, why would the largest one be based off of the smallest box in reference to discount when the other three have prices that increased exponentially according to their bulk size? It just seems a bit odd to me. I would say the fourth box should be priced according to the other three, then discounted.
Except that they didn't do this consistently. Check the other items that they have on sale... the discount percentage there is on top of the already discounted price for that quantity, not on top of the base price. This is the only item in the set that's inconsistent with that.
