where to start for lvl 80 gear

just hit 80 guess i need to get some decent gear any ideas on where to start?

There's quite a bit of cheap gear on the marketplace. You can get rare 80th level gear for less than 1 gold each which is pretty easy to earn if you spend time in the higher level areas. You can also craft level 80 gear but if you haven't been leaving your crafting that's not ideal...because it would cost you even more.

Finally, there are dungeons you can farm (if you're into that) or you can farm karma to buy specific level 80 gear in areas like Orr or Frostgorge Sound.

thanks, im considering farming karma in Orr but is that going to take a crazy amount of time?

I don't know what you consider a crazy amount of time. Make sure you do your daily every day though, because using a karma booster or guild karma buff you'll get good karma from that, as well. You can't finish dailies in Orr though, there aren't enough kill types. Also while you're in Orr, make sure you gather everything you can. What you can't use will easily sell on the marketplace.
