What is everyone going to choose for their thief's characteristic?
Hey guys,
I just want to know what race and what are the different characteristics people are going to go with when they choose thief as their profession, cause its a very interesting class to role play with.
Me going as a human, so I'm being a noble social class, with subterfuge being important to me and also charming and not knowing my true parents, as I got adopted by a childless noble couple.
So with the above information I've created my characters background story.
And people who don't know where to find what happens during character creation, then the link to character creation is given below, you can play around and post your idea.
Interesting character tool. However, I do wonder at the limited choices to be made as far as personal characteristics. Will it have a serious impact to personal roleplaying, I wonder? I remember reading a page on the GW2 site about how player's personal stories are supposed to be made a part of that game; is this how they're planning on doing it? By making players choose a predetermined character backstory? That's kind of a buzz killer, I think, if that's what they're doing. It would be like taking creative control over your own character away from you by saying, "Zees are your choices for your backstory, und your ONLY CHOICES! You VILL play zee character VE SAY YOU CAN PLAY!"
This is just me talkin', but I'd think having a character profile where you can write a back story for yourself that other players can look at would be better. Throw in an interactive environment and lets the players have at it.
Hi Mike, welcome to these forums. Please be aware that the character tool is not part of the game, it's just something a GW2 fan created to be able to play around with parts of the character creation process. As for the real character creation process... answering biography questions during character creation is only part of your personal story. When playing through the game, you will have many personal story quests in which you are presented with choices. Each choice will branch off your personal story in a different direction, and have a different effect on your character. Also, how you interact with other npc's will also have an effect on how your character develops. So in effect the things you do in the game and how you treat the npc's around you, builds your character. I'm not sure if being able to write your own biography text is part of all this, though... and personally, I'm not even sure that would really matter all that much. In the end, it's what you actually do in-game that defines your character...
