    I'm Back!

    Howdy 4um!

After taking a little break from the krewe I decided I cannot let these forums become overrun by negative nancies (I'm looking at you, you know who you are).

So Ive been having a blast in the Fotm dungeon. Ive wondered if anet realizes the pun with the acronym being the same as Flavor of the month. Only on lvl 9, but the mechanics have already begun to change adding increased challenge.

Im glad they finally put a dungeon in place where ive actually had to think about my build and what I contribute beside personal survivability.

I hope everyone had the oportunity to do the 1 time event. I was kinda laggy, but overall a blast. The loot wasnt quiet what i expected, but who could shrug off a free 20 slot bag.

Im kinda wondering what others experience in the new fotm dungeon has been, so post your feedback

This isnt a loot discussion thread, only dungeon experience and gameplay mechanics, please leave acsended gear gripes out of this one.
Thanks all, and look forward to your feedback

I'm kinda creeped out with you just looking at me like that.

I'm lvl 10 FoM btw, and did it a few times (5ish) at the sub 10 level when I couldnt find a group at my level. It's a better concept than other dungeons but now I've seen all scenarios and it's still boring to me personally but ONLY because I don't like dungeons period. I don't like repeating content, so this is as much varierty as you get with a dungeon.

For people who generally like dungeons, I immagine would love the new design because for somebody who absolutely hates them and never does them, this one is...tolerable. Which is high praise from me.

    Guilty conscience?

    ******Spoilers****maybe******

I think the scaling challenge is what will keep me going back. And, well Im a dungeon guy. One of the only issues I seems to have is that on the dredge fractal, after lvl6, whenever you get the bomb the door hall, everyone I play with just suicide runs for the door. This has apparently become the standard. I simply cannot believe that this is how it should go.

Other than that, all the mechanics are solid. I love the environmental elements to the boss fights.

    Actually, loathe the jellyfish boss.

The jellyfish one is uber boring and not challenging. The ice golem is also kinda boring...walk back and forth between two stations. I like the living statue one though. Also dont like the pirhana start to the jelly fish (dolphins are ok) because I hate underwater combat. The swamp/whisp thing is a pain in the rear but I actually enjoy it. Some of them are just meh...like the fire shaman one.

Only one that is an actual challenge and takes a bit of time is the every even extra fractal with the jade maw. imo

Welcome back! One day, I might make it to whatever dungeon is beyond AC.

I can see that. The swamp one doesnt phase me because i have a regular group on voip. It helps a lot. Thats just a freebie for us. water one is least favorite. The icegolum isnt as fun as the other boss that spawns there. Shaman one suck in pugs. The hammer one is fantastico! As is Jade Maw. We still need a regular 5th for our runs, premades make everything better imo.

LOL This is me pretty much. I'm not a huge dungeon crawler in this game. I kind of had my fill in LOTRO and decided I'd focus on other things here.

    Welcome back, btw!

I did step into the Fractals on the day it came out and did a couple of the dungeons. It was pretty cool. That's my total experience, though. The concept of a scaling random dungeon seems pretty creative, though I doubt I'll be able to see any more of the dungeons since I never got past level 1 and no one is likely to be running that early of a level any longer. Whenever I'm in LA these days, most of the groups are looking for level 7+.

I did enjoy the Lost Shores world event! It was extremely laggy, but I only got DCed once and it wasn't at the very end, fortunately. I'd enjoy more events like these, though having less lag for them would be super.

    WELCOME BACK!

I'm only FotM lvl 2 and keep saying I won't waste anymore time with it, but want my monthly ach lol

I only do it with PUGs and the dredge boss... ug 1 or 2 yahoos in the group never quite grasp it and kit the guy everyhwere BUT the pot-O-lava and don't get me started on the swamp, I'm always sitting there with my wisp in the stupid totem thing having avoided all the traps/mobs/moving walls and the other PUGgers are running around saying "WHERE DO I GO?".

This is all my fault as I don't have friends that want to do FotM and now that they said I wont have to for ascended gear I am once again happy and content to NOT GO INTO FotM! lol

Welcome back! We need a bit more positive on these forums.

I've never been a dungeon crawler myself, but FotM is a lot of fun for me. I won't go all the way with progression, because I like to break up stuff by doing other stuff. I'm ready for level 3 now, but I've seen all the content at least, which is all I care about.

I'm not really a mechanics player, I'm an immersion player and the two, often, are at odds. Doing the same thing over and over feels like I'm not really in the world ...which is where I spent most of my time,.

At any rate, the new dungeon is a blast. I like it better than any of the other dungeons. And the teamwork aspect is really good and I agree, it helps to be on mumble with my guild to tackle a lot of it.
