Yes, anyone can message anyone else with either a character name or your whatever that is called with the .####
You can also xfer server if you find a guild you like on another one and you can belong to multiple guilds!

If you're looking for a guild and don't mind a transfer, Order of the Fool on Crystal Desert server is always looking for new members. We're a small guild focused mostly on PvE and the occasional WvW outing. We're holding at right around 50 members right now. Most of us have been together since the closed beta of Champions Online under the banner Legion of Laughter, but a few have been gaming together a bit longer. We're always looking to help however we can and answer whatever questions you may have. We've got a vent server and use it regularly. Feel free to check out our Guild Portal at http://fool.guildportal.com, its use is in no way a requirement. We don't use the website often, but it's there for whenever someone needs it. Most of the officers check it every day. Generally if we're at a computer long enough to browse our forum, we're in game playing!

Server transfers are currently free so that won't be a worry, you are limited to one per 7 day period though. We're mostly east coasters, but we've got people in most US timezones.

If by packed you mean full...full servers aren't full 24/7. Wait until later at night or earlier in the morning and you should be able to transfer.Originally Posted by JAK.7629

We all were, not too long ago. Even guys from other MMOs had to relearn some stuff to play this game.
Server transfers can be like that on the more populated servers unfortunately. I didn't know we were full.As Vayne said, during off-peak hours they tend to open up for transfers.
I tried sending you a message in-game earlier but it may have been missed in chat spam.
