Apparently when the lost shores event went live loot tables were changed on unid dyes and ended up changing the world loot tables as well. Since then unid dyes have been adjusted (going from a few silver back up to 9-10 silver). MF is broken in the world as well. Because of the fractal hype along with the fact fractals have been unaffected by this it has gone unnoticed for awhile contributed to responses such as bad luck. As far as I know no dev has made a response but a mod had said Anet is gathering data.

A lot of people are under the impression that nexon has a hand in this and the only data they are collecting is how much gems they sell with the loot tables the way they are. Why an Anet dev doesn't respond at all is on a lot of people's minds.

I am slacking at work and might have missed some of the facts. However, as this "bug" is steadily approaching a month old many are fearful of the direction gw2 is taking.

Here's hoping it is a bug and gets fixed soon.

Also the mystic forge appears to have a decreased crit rate as well.

I really wish people would shut up about Nexon, a company that bought 15% of NCsoft stock. There's been no evidence at all that NCsoft invited them to do so. Big companies buy stock all the time without having a seat on the board or any say over the product. You can buy 15% of a public company if you have the money to do so and the stock is trading low enough. Companies do this all the time.

NCsoft wasn't hurting for money and had no real reason to make a deal with Nexon. Nexon has no control over Guild Wars 2. Bugs in games happen all the time. They take a while to get fixed, because they're not always easy to track down. There are bugs in Guild Wars 1 that lasted a year. There are bugs in WoW that have lasted multiple years. Is Nexon responsible for those too?

I think it also has to do with the plinx run nerf. At least on my server, every day there were at least 20 people doing this run over and over pretty much 24×7. With decent MF, I was getting on average 2-3 yellows per run. I was salvaging those for 3-5 ectos. Now? I see about 2-3 yellows per day, not per hr. and I get maybe 1 ecto per those 2-3.

I think it’s a combination of 3 things. Drop rate of yellows decreased, ecto salvage rate from yellows decreased, plinx run nerfed.

I know Anet is the brain not the pinky, and that they are trying to cater to both the casual and the hardcore gamer just trying to find a happy medium.

Korean grind fest? ROFL You obviously have never played a Korean grindy game if you think Guild Wars 2 is anything like a Korean grind!

Okay, I ran Orr last night. I did fine. I didn't get any golds, but I got quite a few greens. I was there for about 20 minutes and only participated in a couple of events, one of which failed.

I think that with more people around you kill faster and you get more drops. There are less people around and I killed stuff a lot slower. Without the big influx of mobs from dynamic events, there are a lot less chances for loot.

Probably the best way to farm is five people in a group. This way you always have people at events with you at least.

I used to love playing the Zenonia series on my phone... besides that quote was taken from the same post where I said I ran arah for the first time, actually my first dungeon besides fractals, and I didn't even get a green. I never said or meant to imply gw2 itself is a Korean grind fest I was referring to my impression on the end game dungeon I ran which took ~2 hrs and not any decent reward.

That I would assume is Anets postion on it, to make yellows more rare as not to have the market flooded with ectos as people were farming them 3-5 an hr. There are a lot of people that have been saying they have noticed a difference in the world drops and not in the fractals. I mean if Anet had a design flaw that let people farm ectos from rares so much it saturated the market they would want to try to stabilize it.

It's probably best at this point to farm mats and craft golds to salvage, rather than get rares as drops.

Vayne man you sound more and more like someone who works for A-Net, stop defending that which cannot be defended. I used to play Atlantica Online, the game was doing awesome, then NEXON bought a small percentage like a 15% and they placed one of their best sales person in the Cash Shop, guess what after 1 year go and check the status of the game, NEXON ended becoming the owner of the whole game, placed nuew rules, stuff that in game would have sell for 15 silver now cost millions of Gold, you want make gold buy it from gold sellers.

Now you are trying to justify that is OK not to get rare drops and that you should craft them, what the heck is that? What kind of garbage is that?

We had rare drops, we had exotic drops, we had good droops and after the latest patch, strangely, after NEXON bought 15%, all that changed. C'mon gimme a freaking break, how long you want to keep your head buried in the sand?

I disagree. Drops have been nerfed and it needs to be fixed.

Well that's assuming it's "broken", The did nerf the drops, but also got rid of more bots AND introduced gear that uses up a ton of those mats driving up demand. So decreased supply for several reasons, with increased demand makes the prices jump up.

Prices jump, and if people want/need the gear, they may be more likely to buy gems, rather than spend weeks farming materials that are now even harder to farm. I'm assuming this is a business decission to bring in more money. And I'm not saying this is good or bad, just laying it out. The point is, I'm not sure that this (except perhaps the dye drop) is something AN plans on changing as I believe it was an intentional move.
