Starting a a character over at level 20.......

Seen a couple of people talk about doing this. Not sure what the logic is. While it does take time to learn how to play a new character, Not sure starting over is the right answer.

I found, when having a tough time with my thief, Getting some pointers from a high level thief really helped. The skills he suggested helped LOTS. Time and using different tactics helped as well.

    Am I missing something??

Hmm. I think there are just very large differences in difficulty among the classes in the regular PVE. And people may or may not want to invest the time to learn something hard in a game. Some do, but I assume more don't want to. These try out a range of classes until they find one that fits them.

For me, Thief is really a pain in the butt when playing in PVE. At least in comparison to classes that are faceroll easy (only talking about regular questing PVE) like guardian or ranger. I still play the Thief from time to time, but he's only lvl 25 or something right now. It's definitely one of the more squishier and thus more difficult classes in my opinion. But on the other hand it's also a vastly powerful one when properly equipped and skilled in WvW or other endgame areas.

I think it could be good if you are disgruntled with you char name or appearance or race, but only allowable if you have a lvl 80. Just a thought

As my main character is a Ranger, I found the thief to be pretty easy. I am no expert by any means, but found it pretty simple.

I stopped listing to others on what use and found my own setup that works for me. The way I play him, Range with dual pistols, and Kite with Pistols, then if no choice, break out the dual daggers. Catdrops for a skill imho, cant live without em. Great when the bad guy wants to chase you around or drop them between you and the bad guy.

So far, doing well. Level 23 and hope to hit 80 with in a month.

I used to play AO where when you reached the top level you could transmute your character to a new class but you needed to get all the new gear (except if the class used your same gear). It was an item you bought on the shop and you could change your top level to whatever class you wanted.

I deleted a ton of characters for "X" or "Y" reasons. Usually around lv30, when the max skills unlock.

I deleted my lv80 guardian last night. I pushed this char to 80 just because i wanted to play with my lv80 friend, but honestly, i really don't like that class lol... I deleted my lv53 Asura female warrior when they changed her neck's appearance during a patch a few weeks ago. She just didn't look the same... And i didn't like the looks of armor on such a tiny character.

My crew and I are new players and I rolled a thief. I would like to know more about his role in PVP as that is primarily what we will be doing.
