    Say Whooot@!!!!!

Yesterday I rolled a new toon and I was doing some exploring when I got hammered by a vet, I died and a good soul came and rez me, I say thanks and we got attacked again, I died and the person rez me again, I went to say thanks and I got a message about excesive messaging, 2 minutes later there is this guy posting post after post of chinesse characters strings, I counted well over 13 posts, how come I cannot event post 2 posts one after another with an intervale of a minute or two, but this guys can post a tirade of crap one right after the other, what the heck is wrong here?

This game is really becoming a nightmare.
Jhn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Because most likely you typed the same response "thanks" and was treated like spam. No limit on number of posts only repetitive posts.

It's a bug, it has happened to me as well.

This is true. When i'm linking stuff from GW2db.com to show the legendaries and what not to people while we're chatting I'll get hit with the spam filter because the product is often just [] even though it's a different string going into the chat box. If you add some words and what not it'll never get you hit with the temp silence.

I just don't think this is true. I've written the same LFG statement spaced out before and never gotten muted. Once I typed LFG twice spaced out over five minutes, and got muted. Meanwhile others were writing the same thing over and over just fine.

No doubt in my mind there's a bug happening with the silence mechanic. It only happened to me that one time, and I did nothing different in that moment than I ever have before.

Not to mention writing something twice shouldn't get you hit with a mute. Three times at the very least.

I think it's the short length of the message along with the repetition. I've been silenced a few times for typing out "LF1M CoE all paths" and sending it more than once in a couple of minutes

How do you know that it's not true. Maybe the times you weren't warned about spamming was the actual bug and the time you were warned it was working as intended. lol

Ha, well fair enough. If that is the case then it's an odd mechanic, that I can get muted after saying something twice... especially since the only way to form a group for dungeons outside of asking your guild is to spam in the map chat.

There are ways to do it where if the words LFG or LFM is in there, it doesn't screw the chat filter and if not then it does. I've said ty more than once in a row and gotten the same error. I don't spam looking for group, because usually we talk in guild chat or on mumble to get groups going.

But of course, this thing is there to prevent gold spammers in as much as that's possible. I know it's a pain in the ass for the rest of us, but if it weren't for gold spammers, we wouldn't need these measures.
