    Hint of future expansion?

Maybe this is only new to me, and most of you have seen it, I don't know. But to me this was pretty exciting. I found an NPC that doesn't look like anything else in game, and you can talk to him and he says he's from a place we aren't ready for yet.

The first two images show where he can be found and what he looks like. The third one shows some dialogue that strongly suggests future content.

Sometimes the images come out really small on this site. If that happens, here's what was said:

    Me: "Where are you from?
Him: "My apprentice and I came from the ocean deeps. I wouldn't advise you go there. You're not ready for the horrors of that place."

I've seen this one before. Not sure if it was related to a mission or event. Could have been somewhere different but recall going deep down a shaft into an area full of nasties with traps which could be where he's talking about.

I think they're called largos, and one of them accompanies you during parts of your personal story. There's probably a page about them on the wiki if you're curious.

I still think the largos are the original margonites. It makes sense in a way.

We know the margonites were a seafaring race. They had wings. We know they followed Abaddon and become corrupted and locked in the Realm of Torment, but we also know they came from across the Unending Sea. So maybe there were more of them still there that didn't follow Abaddon and these are their descendants.

    Now that you mention it:

"The largos are an aquatic race of assassins from the deep oceans of the far north and the Unending Ocean - in both cases, they lived and interacted, to varying degrees, with the native quaggan. They have only recently appeared in Tyria, and mostly do not interact with other races as they prefer to remain unknown. The ocean depths of their origin have unknown "horrors" which caused them to leave."

That could definitely be potential expansion material in the future. But... I really don't want an underwater expansion. Like, at all.

My Kraitkin and I would LOVE a heavily underwater themed expansion

I'm with you on that. I hate hate hate underwater combat in pretty much any game. Though this one's 1000x better than Lemuria in Champions Online... *shudders*

I'm with you on that. It would be very cool if an entire underwater zone was introduced. As it is, most people don't spend much time under water - at all! So far I've only come across like three or four heart events that require you to be underwater to complete them.

Now me, I spend so much time underwater that my characters are going to grow gills. lol Not only do I find underwater combat fun and the scenery under water to be very visually appealing, but the EXP bonus you get from killing underwater mobs is usually pretty high, as not many people bother to go underwater unless they have to to complete a heart event.

For me, underwater is nice in small doses. It looks pretty but it's buggy as shit and you can't jump. It adds to the general sluggyness of the already tedious move speed, feels claustophobic and I often lose all sense of direction, lol. I also think spending too much time down there will give me nightmares. Those dreams where you're kicking as hard as you can but you just can't reach the surface in time...
