Like anything else, the more time you spend underwater the better you get it at. But it's like a different game. I like it because it reminds me a lot of space flight simulators I used to play. You are fighting in 3 dimensions. I don't find it that buggy either. Occasionally, yes, but not any more than most parts of the game.

The real issue with underwater combat might very well be profession related. Some professions are probably better equipped to deal with underwater than others. My first character that reached 80 for example was a engineer. With a bomb kit we're great underwater.

Also, Stacy, half of Orr and half of Frostgorge Sound are under water so there's plenty of underwater at the end of the game, including some of the personal story.

The only quarrel I've had with underwater combat is the downed state. If you're very far down or in a tunnel you're pretty much screwed unless someone can res you. Otherwise I love how open and dramatic it feels to swim around and fight enemies.

The downed state underwater works exactly as it does on land. If you kill an enemy you don't have to swim to the surface. Swimming to the surface is not usually the best way to rally. There are many times I've rallied underwater by killing enemies.

On land you have to kill a foe or be rallied by someone else. In water, you can use your 4 skill if you don't have aggro, you can kill an enemy and you can swim to the surface.

The problem I usually have is that I can't get rid of the aggro fast enough, they always seem to attack me while I'm trying to heal. So I usually make an attempt to swim to the surface, but I don't always make it even then.

Yeah, you're usually better off trying to go for the kill, because if it doesn't leash, it can still attack you when you're on the surface, but on the surface you have no skills at all.

You're right. It is like playing a different game. In which I don't feel like my class anymore and push 1 button to deal massive damage while simultaneously evading everything and pushing utility spells if I feel like it. Snoooore.

My only problem with the underwater combat is the immune crap, if they remove that Murine thing the underwater would be perfect, although I can't imagine an underwater jumping puzzle. Say whooooot!!!!!

That could definitely be potential expansion material in the future. But... I really don't want an underwater expansion. Like, at all.
    Agreed.

Though, just because its underwater, doesnt mean it all has to be swimming.
