I have 47% world completion with the entire WVW map and both lvl 80 zones cleared. How long would it take me to clear the other 53% of the map trying to do it as fast as humanly possible? And any tips on speeding it up? (I don't do the zone completion stuff, for example I played since beta and still have 75% of Lions Arch not discovered)

Yeah, the WvW part is pretty much the hardest IMO...Im only at 57% completion right now myself but I like focusing on one area at a time to keep it organized with less wandering. Plus, take your time and enjoy it! I ran through Caledon forest for map completion last week and stopped to do a few events and pulled an Abyss Dye from an Unidentified drop from one of them. Yeah, it will be lengthy to get it all done. But one thing this good at is sight seeing. Take in your surroundings and just enjoy it. There is no prize for getting it in a certain amount of time. However, I can see you wanting to get those rewards for map completion sooner....

I'm mapping out how to best get a legendary weapon so i can make sure I have "best in slot" gear and be worry free on that end. I'm saving up mats, money and karma...but until the ascended gear stuff I had no plans to get a legendary so I never worked on my map completion stuff. I'm sure people that PVE love it and hats off to them. I'll have to chose weeks where my servers is doign really well and then I'll PVE that week.

I agree. I can see your side of it more than my side. Sometimes a POI in a WvW will not be possible for you to step in for weeks/months. That's kinda crappy. I don't think it should be like that, but AN themselves considers WvW PVE for some moronic reason. In what world does an environment where hundreds of players are actively trying to kill you, is that considered PVE? Dumb.
I can see why you'd need 100% PVE world completion because you need to be legendary" at the whole game but I still think it's stupid. I have all the WvW and the high level maps (because I wanted the rewards back then)...I will have zero thouble completing the rest of the map...it'll just take a long time of me doing content I dont really enjoy to get it. Which I was ok not getting when I thought it would just be a 2% incrase in damage...but now I thnk I'm much safer getting a legendary weapon to prevent any future stat creep due to gear.
I really think thats a safe bet. No one can be 100% sure, but it sounded like legendary will always have its stats increased to top lvl.
Im curious though, what they will do when they raise lvl cap? Hopefully they just continue to raise the stats on legend gear forever. Almost like inheritance gear in wow.

Did anet say they were going to make legendaries easier to get? Something about precursors being questable? I have dumped so many exotics in that dam forge trying to get my dusk. No dice. Even after they supposedly increased the chances. I guess and increase of .0000000000001% is still an increase, and good enough business strategy to get us all to sink another 30-40 gold trying like fools.

Why will it matter how long it takes, are you racing someone to some unfathomable end? This is the mind set you may wish to get out but its your game do as you will. I am sure Vayne can argue a better point than me as he got me out of that same mindset of feeling I should hurry and do xxx or be left behind, point is it does not matter even if you 100 percent you are not done with the world and if you feel you are done it may leave a hole of what now do you. Take your time or not, I choose to settle down and take mine. I am too old to rush to the twilight of what now over.

Way to answer the question. So helpful and insightful. It must be all those years of experience that makes you so worldly.
It should take you around a month Bokiz. Overall less than a week if you grind it all out but playing casually (I don't do much PvE) it'll take a bit longer. Each map really doesn't take that long to complete. I'd say just start in the starting zones and work your way out until you're done.
I've been stuck at 90-something% forever.. I'd finish it but.. you know.. that whole being a Mesmer thing.
