    Goodbye why?

It has come to my attention - mainly through the posts on various sites - that a vocal minority are bored with GW2 and want to go. The game is 3 months old, it's been in development for some time and yes there were problem with some of the events that didn't go so well. However if you think that things will always be this bad think again - this is their business, they need it be succesful to stay in business. They will have to make changes to the way things work and as always, some will like the changes, other will hate them.

Do you honestly think that the devs looked at the events and the feedback and thought - that went well, we don't need to change?

As for those declaring what a rip off - exactly how were you ripped off? Does the game run - yes. Does it perform much the same as they said it would - yes. If you want to talk about rip off, try paying full price for CoD Modern Warfare 2 or CoD World at War. Both I completed in about 5 hours in SP and both multiplayers were so lame they were mostly unplayable. Did I rant on the forums about not getting value for money, no. I just wont buy another CoD game again - simple!

If you find a game you like, go play it. We ALL play for fun and laughs. I'm not going to say I'm quitting GW2 because this is missing or that is missing - I'll do the bits I like and I just wont do the bits I don't until I find something else that I enjoy doing more.

All I can say is it will still not be Wow - yes I have played and they also offered me Wow and the expansion packs + 30 days F.O.C. because I bought Diablo 3. I liked Diablo 2 and LOD but D3 was fun for a couple of weeks and is now gathering dust on the shelf. I don't demand my money back claiming I was ripped off - I just went and played something else. I may go back for another look at some point but it's not going to be a regular on my play list. So it should be with GW2 - you don't have to keep subscribing to keep your character - that is not the way they do things.

Now I know that GW2 will not please a lot of people, it's because it's more of a free form game than most others out there. The MTV generation require that they get everything now and led about by the hand. At last I've found a game that does not treat me like yesterday was my birth day and lets me decide what I want to do - if you don't like it, then please move on. I for one have not read every wiki about GW2 or stressed that my armour/weapons/trinkets are not max level. I've just got on with the game, had a lot of fun and made a few new friends along the way!

I just dont get what is upsetting people so much. Different combat mechanics perhaps? I enjoy being able to duck, tumble and roll. I'll not stand still in a fight just to make it easy for you to target me. I've never done that in any FPS I've played - don't expect me to start now that a MMO does it. Jumping possibly - I relish the fact I can climb most things in GW2. No longer is that 2' high wall an obstacle to walk round, it may be used as a jumping point to climb higher now. This does not mean that I do like climbing/jumping all the time - it triggers my vertigo now and then - especially the tree in the Hidden Garden! Underwater combat may also be a bugbear for some, I've heard more than a few times - I cant use my proper skills/weapons underwater. It's different, just like it you pick up some of the "other" weapons about the place. I had a rare evening with a couple of buddies trying to see how many pirates we could hit with the broken plank before we broke it. Daft yes, but we had fun with it!

All in all it's trying to be different from the standard run of the mill MMO and I hope they keep trying to change things up - the grind to level format is very tired now and I love the freedom from having to do what the game tells me to doing I want - when I want to! What an amazing change.

This is why I'll be in GW2 for some time to come!

Well why people are leaving has been discussed ad nauseum. I'm not going to rehash it here or discuss its validity.

Why people are starting threads about it is to say bye and express their thoughts. Its human nature. If Centaur for example just stopped posting here, I would wonder wtf happened. Now I know how he feels and why (and support him in it)

As bokiz said why has been discussed way too much already.

As for me I'm pretty much happy with the game and intend to keep playing. I'm not bored yet, I have 2 lvl 80s, 1 who has 95% map compeletion and a lot of alts that I will continue to work on for sometime. I haven't liked everything about the game or about somethings Anet has done since release, but until the do something that truely breaks it or prevents me from having fun the way I like to have fun, I'll keep playing.

Unfortunately, it's human nature to complain. I did it on the Rift forums when I felt design decisions in that game interfered with my enjoyment of the game. Other people are complaining here because they thought they were getting something they didn't get. I agree the value of Guild Wars 2 is outstanding and it's a damn good game, with the potential to become a great one. But only time will tell.

Like you, I've been frustrated by the naysayers. People don't have patience, and every word that comes out of Anet's mouth, no matter how they phrase it, is analyzed, broken down, interpreted and often mis-interpreted. And in the end it doesn't matter. Guild Wars 2 is a fun game for a whole lot of people. I believe it will continue to grow and become more popular as time goes on, particularly as some of the bugs get fixed (many of them already have been fixed).

But one thing I do believe is that people do have a right to have their say, positive and negative. I just wish human nature was such that a few more positive people took time out from their play to say what a great time they're having.

    Thumbs down

Dont leave GW2 is the only decent free to play mmorpg on the market.
IMO take a break and come back refreshed.

Try another game for a few months buy then maybe your bug issues will be resoled?

Hope to cya soon, i hate to see a game leaver, especially after City of Heroes/Villians/Going Rogue/Freedom has now shut down all servers and it was my fav game Since 2004, I was gutted lol...

I'm not leaving, I am just irritated that there seem to be loads of people more interested in drama than just having fun. Lot's of "I'm leaving because". I've been targeting Payday this week as the guys I play with were trying to knock off one of the achievements but even tho we had a target, game plan etc, I still wanted to go and play GW2 instead. I'm glad I did make the time, called an event on a map last night, got 5 players to hop straight into the event, had a blast - made a new pal and we only stopped 2 hours later as the gang was gathering to play Payday.

I love the fact that GW2 is a very social game. Sure you can solo most of the PvE maps but it's more fun with a friend or two. I've met loads of people, usually crossing paths in the middle of nowhere and teamed up with them just for a bit until we head in seperate directions. No longer is it a matter of the party of 8 (well 4 or 6 too depending on where you were in GW) against eveything in an instance. Now you can call events or ask for assistance when you accidentily dodge off of a cliff . . . . Not that I did that last night - twice . . . .

Sure a lot of the players I had buddied in GW have not made the move - we are older, wiser - apparently and balder in some cases. Families need to be tended to, life has other time sinks too but we buddy those we are playing with now in this game. I'm not a sheep - I'm going to play a game I like with other people who like the game I am playing.

Estrel - I know how that goes, I loved playing Hellgate:London and I was gutted when the servers closed. I know there are new servers running now but sadly they are on Vayne's side of the planet
