how do I get weapon sets do I buy them or make them or maybe steal them I have one main weapon and there are some in the inventory and in the hero panel maybe I have to be at a particular level before I can use certain weapons anyway howdo I put weapons into sets and can they be hot keyed?

Weapon sets are just that - sets of weapons. For my warrior she carries an axe and a sword and her swap weapon set is a rifle. Press the "h" key and you set up your weapons sets in there. You add to the set what you think works best for your character and playstyle. To swap between the sets you use the tilde key "`" - that is the key to the left of the 1 key.
Different professions can use different weps, not sure but I don't think any one profession can use all, but some can use more of a variety than others. Your toon always starts with a simple one to get you started. You can buy more from the Trading Post or you can buy from NPC's (look for a sword sign on the map, these guys only sell basic ones) You can also find them as drops from mobs. Also as you get into the game you will earn Karma and certain Karma vendors sell weps too (for Karma), and they are all over the place.
To learn a crafting skill look in your races main city and talk to the NPC, you can only know 2 crafting skills at a time, but if you switch you DO NOT lose progress in the one you started, but you DO have to pay a fee to switch, the fee is based on your lvl of crafting skill. Most people learn 2 per toon and just switch toons when they want to make something else. Different crafting skills make different types of wep/armor so talk to them each to see what you might want to make.
As far as wep sets, not sure what you mean by that. You can have a Main hand and an off-hand weapon, also at lvl 7 you get the ablity to weapon swap to 2 different weps with a button push (or 1 other wep if you are using a two handed wep)
Each weapon you use has different types of skills. So a dual Axe set up will have completely different skills then a staff or a greatsword. Different weapon sets are more effective with different traits and ulitity skills so experiment and see what you might like and try it out. Trait points are unlocked at lvl 11 I believe and don't be afraid to experiment with them as you can easily reset them by talking to a trainer.

You can buy them of the TP, many of them are cheap.
You can get them as drops in game. As rewards for story quest completion. You can get them from vendors in game for karma. Or from dungeons from tokens. AS you see, there are many ways to get a weapon set.
Now, if' you're not level 7 yet, you can not swap weapons. Once you hit lvl 7, you can have 2 sets of weapons to switch back and forth, giving you different attack skills with seperate cooldown. (unless you're an elementalist, they do not have weapon swapping but attunenemts)
Depending on your profession, you can have many weapons to chose from and different combinations to play with, so figure out what works for your playstyle and with the traits you end up chosign as you lvl up.
