Thread: Guild Wars 2 would be cool on Wii U

Personally, I love the Wii U so far...I consider myself a well-rounded gamer as I love both my console and PC games equally. When it comes to Xbox and Playstation, I do get mad that I ever bought an Xbox...it was my first 'next-gen' console at the time and Mass Effect and Dragon Age were the only 'Exclusives' for it that I wanted..and they ended up on the PS3 as well...lol Oh well.. When I do buy a console, I usually buy only for the exclusives anyways. So when it comes to the Wii U, it is mainly my Mario/Zelda machine but I will enjoy a few of the others that come in time..
The new Mario game for the Wii U is actually my favorite since Super Mario World. But at any rate, I can see everyone's point with this... It really is about preference more than anything which is fine. Personally, I think the Wii U is already 1,000 times better than the Wii ever was.. But hey, if your only into games that come out for PC, then by all means, screw the console versions! :-D

Given that I live in the US, where obesity is quickly becoming the norm, I think it is safe to say that most gamers are well rounded...

ETA: Until about 2 months ago while I was still marathon training I had lost so much weight my doctor told me I need to put some of it back. (18 pounds, I was about 10 pounds underweight)...now in the two months since I've pretty much put it all back...I guess it's prety much my natural weight. No six pack for me.

The problem with any MMO on a console is updating it. Almost every time I log into GW2, I am downloading some sort of update. Anytime you want to update something on a console, it has to go through certifications from Microsoft and/or Sony and that obviously takes weeks at a time.

The other problem is that there isn't enough buttons on the typical console controller to issue all the commands in your typical MMO. Sure, the Wii U has a tablet which would take care of that issue, but I don't ever see GW2 coming to the Wii U for other logistical reasons.

I am both a console and PC gamer. When I play Skyrim, I rather play it lounging on my couch on my 55 inch LED tv instead of sitting in a seat. But when I play GW2, I'd probably rather play that on PC than on my couch.

    It's good to have options

Admittedly, "Big Picture" on Steam looks pretty interesting. Some games do play really well with gamepads, especially racers and simulation - singleplayer games. It would be pretty cool to hook up a dedicated gaming 'Steam box' to an HDTV and play away. Hey, it's still a PC!
