A warrior should be a good choice for you, though I may be biased because I've only ever played a warrior. But seriously, warriors can deal out excellent damage, both burst and sustained. They have access to melee and ranged weapons, all of which are useful depending on your playstyle. And they're easy to play and solo with.

So are warriors good for support? It depends on what you consider support. To me, warriors are amazing for offensive support with their shouts, banners, and sheer dps, though it really depends on your build. My level 80 warrior constantly crits for up to 3k damage, so you could say she's a glass cannon, but she actually has a little trick up her sleeve that greatly improves her survivability. The sustained damage means that enemies go down very quickly, so that's less damage the enemies are putting out. In addition, I'm rarely dying, so teammates don't need to worry about constantly reviving me. And all the while I'm using For Great Justice (a shout) and a banner of discipline to improve the team's dps as a whole. I think that's support right there! However, it's limited to dungeons and general PvE.

I would say, try them all! You never know which class that will suit you the best until you try it

I have worn many faces and had many a name, but there was only one frame that fitted; like shoes with laces. I do encourage you to use one you most enjoy and bare in mind all classes deserve equal fame for equallity is the best social status.

Any class can do PVE and end level content. It's a question of what might be easier/more efficient/fun for you...so I'll go through some of them.

There is really only one class I won't recommend for PVE and that is thief. Now thiefs of the forum, don't jump on me, they are a good class. But they are much better for PVP and not the most efficient class for PVE because stealth and some other tactics aren't that great for PVE and thiefs are semi squishy,

Rangers can do well in PVE, especially early on but I think I heard that at the lvl 80 places like Orr its harder for them. Just what I heard.

Elementalists are ok in PVE but they don't kill as efficient as others and are a cloth class with low hp and fairly high learning curve but can be fairly supporty. A lot of work for the reward though. (Im an elementalist) It's a class that is a blast to play for me personally and I can't play any other class now, but for PVE, may not be the best class.

Engineers are ok but honestly I don't know too much about them and how effective their kits are but from what I gather they are fairly solid and versatile.

Mesmers I hear aren't the easiest for PVE but they do ok and if you ever plan on doing any PVP, they will excell there. Can deal out really nice damage as well but its another class with a higher learning curve.

Warriors and guardians are "easy" mode PVE. They are (or can be when specced right) very tough, have a lot of damge mitigating technigues and can deal out decent to great gamage. I don't think I hear too many people complain they can't hadle PVE with the. Guardian being more supporty that warrior.

I have one of every profession and enjoy them all. My Ranger was my first lvl 80 character because she was my main in GW1. She does well in every area of the game. I have an Ele and she plays quite a bit differently, but is still fun. Warriors are awesome in GW2 as they now have more ranged options available so my lvl 42 warrior starts fights with a rifle and changes to a greatsword when the enemies get close. The mesmer is really cool with all her phantasms and is also a different play style. As I have been focusing on my Ranger/Ele/Warrior atm she is only lvl 25, but I enjoy her when I do play her. My Sylvari thief is a blast with dual pistols, but she is only lvl 15 as there is just not enough hours in the day to play them all. I am sure you will find whatever you choose fun to play. With 5 charater slots to fill you can create 5 different professions and play them all to lvl 10 or so and then focus on which ever seems the most fun for your playstyle. Enjoy!
