How to Have Fun in Guild Wars 2 Again?

I got GW2 expecting it to be the most amazing game in the world that I would play for hours on end but I find myself getting bored quickly. I only have one real life friend that plays Guild Wars 2 and he's the same way as me except he thinks it's that the game isn't as good as GW1. How can I get him back into the game and have fun in the game also? What do you guys do in between quests for the story line just wander around doing events and heart quests and completing maps? Please help! Thank you! (wasn't sure where to post this but it does have to do mostly with gameplay I think so yeah)

You can't get someone back in game to play the game, period. If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it.

The only thing you can do is find a guild, make some friends and start having fun. If you start having fun, he might wonder what he's missing.

Trying to play any game with just one real life friend is a problem, because you've put all your eggs in one basket. Take control of the situation by making another basket.

Your first problem is that you thought this was going to be the most amazing game in the world, which is a lofty standard that nothing will probably live up to. I came at it with realistic expectations that it would be different from the other boring MMOs out there, and I was satisfied that delivered on that promise, and that's enough for me.

As to your friend...you can't force them to play. Play without them and tell them what a fantastic time you had, how you conquered a champion in an event, how you finished a great jumping puzzle and got a chest, or how you watched a bunch of folks down a dragon. If that doesn't get your friend interested again, then just make friends in the game, as has already been suggested.

I have zero real life friends that play this game. However, I have made a ton of friends in the game and when I actually feel like playing the game like normal people do, I never have problems finding someone to play with.

Have you tried WvW? Nothing helps take out the frustration of a long workday like stomping a few invaders. Or a stray yak that's walking along to the keep just asking to be slapped. Don't blame me, that yak was totally asking for it, wearing nothing but that cargo on its back.

lol...I have played WvW twice. Both times, I sought out women who dared to look like me and attacked them. I also tell all of my friends who PvP/WvW to kill them for me and whisper my name into their ears as they die.

I find taking long breaks from the game helps keep the game fresh. When I then return to the game everything feels new and fun again
Guild Wars 2 is a great game but don't overdo it, otherwise you'll get borde
