The fractals are definitely a step in the right direction and hopefully a sign that they will not be repeating the same mistakes they have with the current boss fights.
Im on this train with Fey, Love gw2, wvw is great, PVE needs more involved Boss battles. Fotm for me is a huge step in the right direction of what im looking for. Hopefully the backlash anet has received will not deter them from creating more content like this.

And the make up of good teams is usually the same...thief, mesmer, ele, warrior, necro. Or some combination off, depending on your strategy. It's fun to synergize and have strategy and its challenging. Not arguing that.

However it's supposedly fair. It's not often where your 5 man group is fighting 10-15 invaders and holding them at bay, luring them to a spot that's advanageous to you and kiling them and making a push at the right time to shock them into a retret so you can pick them off, etc. The fun/diffuculty of WvW is in the unpredictability and in the unfairness of it.

I agree though, if you zerg v zerg in WvW, there is little challege and can't be compared to true pvp.
I agree with this about tPvp and WvW. 100%.
It's not like every boss in GW2 is bad or boring. Go fight giganticus lupicus in arah. He is one of the hardest bosses in the game.
It's also the same in that game, once you learn the fight, it becomes much much easier. That's how it is in any game with bosses.

We had Lupicus on farm week 1. And bosses aren't the same in PSO2. They don't follow patterns. They use attacks at free will.

There's a Dragon named Vol Dragon, that has an ability where he digs underground and takes a lava bath then comes up with a coat of igneous rock covering him that buffs his damage and his defense greatly. Sometimes he'll do it almost right away. Sometimes he'll wait a good couple of minutes. No matter what difficulty you fight him on. Bosses are actually proactive and never follow patterns.

But again, different game, different mechanics.

Edit: And I loved fighting Lupicus, he's one of my favorites. But he's my favorite because he reminds me of a WoW encounter since he actually has phases like real raid bosses do. I'm not saying GW2 bosses are bad, I'm saying they're not that creative.

The ones that are creative are usually in story mode and are piss-easy. Like the Iron Forgeman is one of the coolest bosses I've ever seen in the an MMO. But he's not hard and there's zero reason to fight him more than once.
