Hello =) bit over used question but i never found what i actually wanted.
i assume there'll most likely be servers for oceanic players but is there any info on if oceanic players actually have there own servers hosted in say Australia?
with WoW for example i'm sure most oceanic players would agreee that playing with 200ms+ is to much of a disadvantage in pvp when your against others with 10ms.
and since from what i read GW2 is not only using there own ideas but also sort of using WoW to improve there own game in terms of everything WoW did wrong.
i know i'd totally love this game if i finally got to experience pvp without a disadvantage so has there been any info on if GW2 is doing servers hosted outside of america?
They haven't announced anything in detail about servers yet. They hinted at the possibility of Oceanic servers a very long time ago, but nothing remotely near definitive. I'm sure there will be servers outside of America though, Europe/UK is a huge market.
I'm down in Tassie, but I wouldn't expect an "official" Aussie server, if I were you. For one thing, it's been indicated, unlike other games, that you can change servers for free, and at will. So having a dedicated server of any kind is sorta pointless, in that sense. I'm sure they won't be hosting a server in Australia at any rate since most games don't for good reason. The phone companies in Australia make it prohibitively expensive to host servers here. Even games like Rift that have Oceanic servers, still host them in the states.
Seems to me, with the ability to transfers servers, Aussies will just have to pick a server and all transfer to it. Problem solved, at least for grouping. For me, I'm not concerned at all about it.
