Thread: Snowball Fight!!

I'm really starting to dislike these one time events, I'd rather see meaningful lasting content instead of fun mini-games that go away once the event is over. Usually I don't really care one way or the other, but after seeing how much time Anet is putting into these events it makes me go "That's nice but where the **** is guesting?".

I mean they ARE loads of fun and I find myself doing them when I have time to log in, but come on. All of this stuff is gonna be gone in like 2 weeks.

Thanks! I never would have figured that out! Stupid AN for not giving a tutorial or better explanation.

I completely agree. Fix your kitten bugs, AN! Then give us more content. If I wanted a buggy kitten game with lots of new content, I could go back to DDO.

The guys working on this content, aren't the same guys that are working on the bugs. It's different teams. Anet fixes a a lot of bugs, many completely undocumented. For example, before the recent patch, my mesmer signet that grants a random boon every ten seconds wasn't working. It's been fixed, but Anet never said a word about it. Which sucks, because if I hadn't tried it, I wouldn't know it was fixed.

The point is, Anet has 270 employees and quite a lot of devs. The devs are on different teams with different responsibilities. And they're making these events not just for this year, but for every year to come. Do you really think that isn't important? Particularly with people saying they have nothing to do?

I understand bugs are frustrating, but I doubt very much this content is preventing any of them from being fixed. By the same token, these events are keeping a whole lot of people playing.

I wasn't talking about bugs. I'm talking about actual features and content that we should have but don't, bugs and all. I get the seasonal stuff and that they want to push out these one time events over time instead of giving us something like an actual end game.

But I'd definitely be more excited to play if I could snowball fight with all the friends that I can't play with which ANet told me I'd be able to while they were stroking their E-Peen about how awesome these experiences would be.

    Hi everyone.

Thanks for your concerns. Effectively, guesting will arrive soon, after the communities settle down. However, we cannot provide you with an ETA at the moment but we will keep you guys updated in that respect.

Thanks again. I will proceed now to lock this thread.

SoE was using "Soon™" looooooong before Blizzard. I think Sony might have a case.

That is true! But I couldn't find anymore existing references to it.

Vayne, you are missing the point. It doesn't matter how many devs there are or what they work on. There are only so many SQA engineers and they have to test everything. More time testing new content means less time spent kicking back bugs that weren't really fixed.
