The Psychology of Winning: Fail Better | Team Legacy

After a few coats of polish, we bring to you one of the first in a long series of guides for the GW2 community: "The Psychology of Winning: Fail Better". We recommend this for anyone looking to expand their appreciation of PvP, especially those who find the competitive scene to be an "uphill crawl". It's all in your attitude and thought process.

Here's a simple question for you: Do you play to win? I bet 90% of the people reading this would immediately answer "Yes, of course." The problem is, a great number of them would be wrong. They think they are playing to win, but they are trapped by pride and mental defense mechanisms that prevent them from truly playing to win.
This one is from our very own Bridger, whom you might recognize from the GW2 Podcast Tales of Tyria. Great guy, and who'd of though he writes excellent guides too!

Seperate the men from the scrubs.

Unfortunately, those who need to read it probably will not do it. Besides, it's far easier to hissy fit and whine then improve thyself.

Good read - especially liked the article on reading your opponent. That's a critical technique for PvP success in most games these days from FPS to RTS to MMOs. I always try to do that - though I don't always get it right - and I feel it gives me an edge sometimes.

Also very true about the number of avenues to success there are in games as deep as those we play today. Just takes a little experimentation and willingness to fail on the way to getting better.
