Thread: How will this laptop do?

    How will this laptop do?

Yes laptop, unfortunately.. Only laptops please

Anyways, will this laptop be any good?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834230454

I went to a youtube video and saw this laptop's graphics card playing GW2 on max setting.
But I think it was different.. not sure!
I'd love to play everything on Guild Wars 2. Even those "Huge battles" I've been hearing if that's possible.
The price is somewhere near $1,000 and I'd appreciate it if I can stay around there or if need be, do tell me another laptop that I should get for a little more higher price...
Or if these big battles aren't really important.. show me a laptop that can run these on low settings and have smooth gameplay!
Just looking for a laptop around $1,000 or a little higher :P

I'm sorry for the double post.. but just needed your attention!!
I was planning on getting this laptop as mentioned on my first post...
But my mother's friend, says its a great laptop.. but I should get the Alienware m14x for a couple bucks more.
What do you think? Get the Asus or Alienware laptops?
Is there any faults with the Alienware? I've heard complaints about it being a fail and such.

no problem on post. the link you showed for ASUS states discontiued...
anyway Alienware is just another (well known) brand.

You want higher resolution, highest clock speed on CPU, best gfx card in a gaming setup.

The link i posted (lesser known) brand prbly boasts the bests in these categories, id pick the ALienware vs the asus depending on screen size you want. I personally do not like the 1368X768 resolution. The clock speed of the ASUS is nothing special

you should give the sagernotebooks a good look over.

    Much appreciated skidawgz.
I gave sagernotebooks (The link you gave me) a good look over and compared it with the Alienware laptop I was looking at. And I'm thinking of getting that sagernotebook
With many complaints of the Alienware laptops (Including Youtube Alienware haters, beating the hell out of the laptops with hammers) I think getting the Sagernotebook just makes me feel more safe and not have to worry about it giving me errors/failures/etc.

So yeah thanks again for helping me reach my decision on which laptop I get... the one you showed me!

    Hey Skidawgz
What is the difference between these 2 laptops?
    This: http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.p...el_name=NP6175
    And this: http://www.alienware.com/Landings/laptops.aspx ($999 choice)

And you say look for a higher resolution, the clock, and GFX Card
So I'm still leaning more towards SagerNotebook but im guessing Alienware and this is the same? 0_o

    Important differences:
Screen size 14" Alienware vs 17" Sager
    Screen rez 720p vs 1080p
    System Memory 6GB vs. 8GB
Alienware usually looks cooler, definitely more portable. 17" laptops usually have more comfortable keyboards.

    Sager makes other choices:
    http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.p...el_name=NP6165
That keeps the 1080p rez, I would personally only change the primary hard drive to a 120GB (or larger) SSD and secondary drive to 500GB 7200RPM.

Oh and whatever you saw on Alienware on YouTube is a bunch of shit. People like to get famous on negativity. I don't think I'd personally buy an Alienware any time soon, but they have always been nice looking enough that I check always their prices before looking at other choice. Price/performance is the issue with Alienware and any other well established brand in a market.
