    New Guardian help

so hey guys i just joined these forums and i am getting the game for christmas. I have played all of the other guild wars, guild wars, factions, and nightfall. I already know i want to be a guardian for my first level 80.

I was wondering if it would be possible to Tank a lot of monsters at once while being able to still do a bit of damage. i'm just looking to tank them and kill them slowly not necessarily fast, so i can stay alive but still kill packs with ease just take a bit more time? If this is not possible in Gw2 like it was in almost all the other guild wars can you give me an option that would be close to what i want? That is the sort of play style i enjoy

Any help would be greatly appreciated and you don't have to talk in retard language cause i know most the "lingo" of the gw2 haha thanks in advance!!

also if you think it'd be better for me to be a warrior because this is more of their play style i'd appreciate it. i posted this in guardian because....idk "guardian" sound pretty protective to me

Depends on where you are, but in most end game areas, you'd need to spec for a balance of damage and damage mitigation/health. The reason for this is one of the differences between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is not instanced and creatures continually spawn. If you don't kill them fast enough, you'll end up with more and more creatures which isn't probably what you're looking to do.

In a game where creatures spawn, you're better off taking them down and moving on rather than standing in one place and tanking. In fact, you can "sort of" tank in this game, but it's not the kind of tanking you can do in other games. I'd say give it a try before you figure out how you want to play. Making a decision before you've seen how the game plays won't help you enjoy the game more.
