It was on GameBreaker, something about having fixed like 1̶0̶k̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶a̶c̶c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶t̶ ̶h̶a̶c̶k̶e̶d̶ and forcing every player to change their passwords. The whole "no two players can have the same password" thing, as part of the solution to the issue?

Maybe they weren't breached. I don't really pay attention. I've actually never had any of my accounts across any game I've ever played get hacked.

Oh whops, apparently it was 20million passwords blacklisted, not 10k. Dang I was way off.

Apparently what happened was another site was breached and someone posted the password list of that site to the internet, so every hacker could use it. What that meant was that anyone who used the same password for Guild Wars 2 and whatever site was hacked, or anyone using the same password as one of those passwords, then they were in danger of being hacked.

Anet was getting people trying to log in with names that didn't exist, and those passwords. So they banned all the passwords on that list, so no one could use them. But to my knowledge, Anet itself was never breached.

So far so good on my end. I have a e-mail account I only use for this game. The password I use has never been used any place else, and My e mail for the game requires the answer to a question only I know.

Had to laugh, my password is mixed with numbers. The password itself, I found out awhile back, not spelled right. I continue to use the mis spelled password.

In the end, even if it did get hacked, at this point, Thats ok, I have gotten TONS of time out of the game, Got my money out of it and then some.
