    Alt suggestions?

If you guys remember, on this part of the forum and asked for help choosing a main. I chose a guardian and have it at 80 with full exotic gear now after 90 hours of gameplay. However I just use it to farm gold in CoF. So now I need a new toon. I started a mesmer(Lv.15) with my buddy but I only play it when he's on because I'm trying to get him to 80 too. I started an engineer but got bored of it at Lv.14. I'm just looking for a profession that's nice at soloing with good support since that's what I love playing. Guardian's fun at support, so is engineer but eh... I need a partner for it tbh. So any suggestions? I'm up to try anything since I'm on break and I'm bored. :P

I'm considering Elementalist, Ranger, and Thief. Maybe warrior.

Of those you listed, ele's are the best at support. While you can play a support warrior, ele's are by far the strongest support option of those you listed. By swapping attunements you can go into healing, or control, as well as do some decent damage. But be warned, not everyone finds soloing with an ele easy. It's a challenging profession to learn. Good elementalists can do most things in the game. Bad elementalists, and there are many, complain a lot. lol

I guess I can learn by trial and error. Elementalist has always interested me. Never leveled one past 5 though. I'll guess I'll give it another go. Wish me luck.

If it's like WoW's mage in a way it shouldn't take me that long to figure it out how to escape, kite, etc.

A lot of it has to do with switching attunments and remembering what weapon skills are available under each atttunement. Remember, ele's don't get a weapon swap, so you're locked into one weapon once you enter combat. Which means you have to remember to change before combat, and that means knowing what all the skills do. Ele's have four times the weapon skills of any profession per weapon.

My wife loves swapping in and out of attunements doing different things at different times, often during the course of a single battle. Me...not so much. lol

I'm liking the staff since I know most of the things in it like the AoE heals, the speed buff to get away, etc.. Now I just need to choose race which will probably be Asura or Human.

Make sure you checkout ALL weapon skils/combo's.

You wouldn't want to miss out on ride the lightning for instance...

You will find fire-->inflicts most damage, water-->extra healing, air-->Speed buffs+control and Earth-->defensive, not bad damage no matter what weapon combos you have.

I'll keep that in mind. What are some good soloing builds for elementalist?
