    Money money money!!!!

I just reached lvl 400 armorsmithing. Is it possible to bring in profit from armosmithing? Cause everything sells really cheap. Like it costs more to make it then buy. I really don't see the point of armorsmithing if its cheaper to buy the armor than to make it. Other than leveling your character up. Can anyone help me with this? I really don't want to waste money making Orichalcum gear for nothing.

Quoted from the official GW2 strategy guide, "Don't think of crafting as a way to make money." You craft for XP, for having a goal (like reaching 400), for making exotics at 80, for having complete control of your stats when you transmute to better looking gear, for favors for guildies... tons of reasons, but making money isn't one of them.

Make your Orch gear if you don't see the exact stats you want available in the trading post.

Thanks for letting me know......I went ahead and tested by making an Orichalcum helm and it sold for 3 gold 2 silver (profit was 2 gold 7 silver after listing fee)....and I spent 3 gold and 4 silver making it.

But I found it fun and interesting on learning how level your armorsmithing ability. BUT NOW I HAVE TONS OF GEAR lol. Im just gonna throw it all in the guild bank.

If you farm the materials to make gold gear...and then use a good salvage kit (black lion or mystic) to break it down, there's a chance for ectos. Since I'm farming the mats, it costs me nothing to craft the stuff, but ectos still sell for a decent about a silver. Five ectos will get you more than a gold.

And if you're going for a legendary weapon you're going to need a ton of ectos, which is what I'm doing with mine.

You can make money if you have patience to place buy orders for mats, i know a couple of guildies who are rolling in it from this way.

With the way the economy is it's more profitable to just buy items off the TP and break them down for ectos then resell them. People have no idea what anything is worth. Global economy wooooo!
