Do you believe that anywhere near the millions of copies sold people are still playing?

So the game has over 2 million active players?

    ok ..

We are not dead yet and I do not think we will be anytime soon. I see my guild growing, I see many teams/groups in several of the places I am wandering into (world map completion grinder) this game will be here a long time with loads of players I feel.

Let's not be rude, please. You could have said the same thing without the 'GTFO' part. Thanks.

No, but the idea of only a "small" percentage of retention is a haughty claim to make without proper statistics to back it up, especially with how many people are always online (which has very obviously been growing)... even things like WoW don't retain players equal to their sales numbers, but that doesn't mean only a handful of people are playing it.

I thought it would be better than "STFU" and figured that actually saying "get out" or "shut up" would be even less kind given the staggering effect proper grammar can cause in some people online (based on observational evidence collected over more than a decade of being addicted to the message board scene).

I think it has matured and those who are still playing regularly, will do so for quite some time. To me, the WvW part is a thing that will keep me for as long as nothing better in the massive PVP area comes along.

And now that the leopard has changed its spots and I've found an active WvW guild the game is really on
So I guess at least the part of the community that likes this part of the game will stick around for a long part. The question is, if these are also the people that buy gems to pay ANets bills.

In order for your post to really have meaning, it would have to first answer the other several posts before it. If then, the game isn't dying, what's the point of your post?
Maybe you should reread the first line of my post before you jump all over me. I'm not saying the game is dying but pointing to something that is in no way proof isn't helping the argument.

You know what though, I don't really feel like getting into some long stupid argument with you about it so tell yourself whatever you want, I don't care.

Not that I'm taking sides or anything, but your original post really doesn't make much sense. If ANet were adjusting server statuses then we'd probably see a lot of other signs to go with it. Layoffs, changes to the cash shop, and more pressure to make money instead of making people happy. Etc.

There's also really no point in adjusting server populations, because we're not the ones that they have to make happy with the number of people playing. They could lie to us, sure. But that's pointless. They can't lie to investors or NCSoft. And Investors have only said that the game is growing in population and that they expect it to grow even more over 2013.

    So... Yeaaah.
