    Switching Servers Maybe...

Just looking to get opinions here...I currently co-lead The Quietus Legion guild on the Sorrow's Furnace server. I've been reading up a bit on what specific servers are know for. Apparently, SF is known for inactive players...I have found this to be true for the most part...We also completely suck at WvW...lol My guild seems to be pretty inactive as well tbh...With that being said, I am thinking about proposing a server switch. I want to see what everyone's opinions are on a few things before I make this proposal to my guild...

1.) How easy is it to transfer to different servers?
2.) What servers would you guys recommend (I've been interested in Tarnished Coast to see how roleplaying is).
3.) I realize I will probably lose some guildies from this...but seeing as how only a few of us are active out of the 22 members we have anyways...would you think it's worth it?

As far as I know, server transfers are still free, farily easy to do but impose a 7 day restriction on changing again...so right now, not really a problem from that aspect imo.

What are you looking as far as servers go? If it's RPing, you should prob go to TC. If it's general PVE, I have no idea. If it's WvW, IOJ could always use a few more able bodied men, women, well trained pets. Its not a steamrolling server, but always competative with great people...the community is phenomenal with zero griefing. (well I lie...I'm actually kinda the griefer on our server but other than me, all nice people!)

If it's WvW you're after, supposedly these are the rankings as of Dec. 7th

Remember also that when you change servers with a guild the guild transfers over but any upgrades you may have purchased with influence for your guild will be gone. If you have spent alot of influence upgrading your guild you might want to really be sure this is what you want to do before making the decision to transfer.

As for server, so far i have had many people transfer from many servers over to Yak's Bend where i am and have been very glad they did. Not only to join my guild but because generally Yak's Benders seem to be pretty good peoples. Helpful and friendly. (of course there are still trolls in map chat)

Unfortunately theres going to be inactives everywhere you go. We have definitely had our share as well, but just keep your head up and youll make it work

Good luck to you and your guild!

Unfortunately, I think that time has come for our guild...One of my guild members who I actually happen to be good friends with in RL came out and said that if we don't get any new guild members from this server change that she is gonna find a new guild...This has been something I've been thinking about but when she said that, it struck a nerve but made me realize that maybe that is what we need in the longrun...

I think we are going to choose Tarnished Coast for several reasons (having RP available is one of the big reasons). However, I think our guild is unfortunately going to call it quits. Nothing is official yet...but I think a good chunk of us are going to stick together and find a good active guild to join. As a guild co-leader, this was a tough suggestion to throw to my guild but I have to admit that I just don't have the time to invest in being a guild leader anymore. So there is a guild out there in Tarnished Coast is might be getting lucky soon! haha However, for interested guilds, you can find that post with the details of whats going on with my guild in the 'Find a Guild' section as this isn't the place for advertising...but yeah...essentially, I am hoping for us to merge into another guild pretty much...

It is unfortunate but I feel it is the right thing to do to keep my guildies and friends happy...plus, it'll take a load off of my mind...lol

Its tough to find a decent guild that works for you. I only play PvE. Dont WvW or PvP. Took quite a bit of time to find what fits me best.

We are all real good at at helping each other if some one is stuck on a tough Skill Point, or a tough area. Even found a fellow guild member that together we run maps, we even made new toons just for that purpose. When solo, we both kind work on and do our own thing.

I found it worked best, when someone asked for help, I would be the first one to jump in and help. Did this several times, and before I knew it, I was becoming part of the active guys in the guild. We do orr raids with 10 or more of us, Help a new guy through his first dungeon, Just a great time over all.
