    Looking for a guild

    Hi,

    I am new to guild wars but I used to play WOW for about 2 years. I'm very interested in GW2 I have been following it for quite some time now. I am a college student studying Computer Networking Systems & Security. I have a nice gaming computer so you don't have to worry about me having issues connecting and playing.

    What i'm looking for in a guild:
    * An Eastern time guild (I live in Michigan and I usually get out of class around 6PM, except Friday I have no class)
    * A social community,
    * A well rounded guild
    * A guild with a vent server or some other from of VoIP client.

    I'm looking forward to playing and I hope to find a guild before the game is released.

    Also i'm a redditor if that helps

    -Thank you

    Hi there Fallensurvivorz and welcome to the forums!

    There are loads of guilds on here of many different types, so you get to be picky on what kind of guild you want to be a part of. I will of course advertise the guild I am in, Ship Happens. We are international but 50% of our players happen to live on the east coast, so 50% of us are on the same time zone as you.

    We just voted on using Skype as our way of chatting on the mic while playing GW2 unless GW2 has some sort of system already in the game.

    We are a quality guild which may sound "high and mighty" but it's not, it just means we like to get to know the people applying for membership before we let them in. Gotta keep those creepers and drama queens out. We are a RP guild but we do not force anyone to RP so we let nonRPers in too. Most of us are VERY chatty and do so on FB and our guild forums. We also like to have a good time and we can back that statement up! We have guild parties every once in awhile. Our first one was at a Waffle House, then the Ohio Ren. Festival, Tumbleweed for a cheeseburger challenge (we got free t-shirts), and last Saturday was at a steampunk themed cybor cafe. Here's one of our meetings...

    We can't edit the cybor cafe until next week. Anyways, there's so much information about the guild I can post here but that'll take forever. If you're interested, let me know, ask some questions, or just check out our web guild web site at www.ShipHappens.GuildPortal.com If we don't look the guild for you, then there are quite a few here that will gladly take you.

    I think I'll leave you with another Ship Happens video...

    Well I seem to be following Ship almost every time ones of these posts pop up...LOL I come offering two options for a guild...if you are going Bookah then might I suggest Clan Dragon as a guild that plays as a family more then anything else. Though if you choose a better choice and decide on being an Asura then with-in the depths of Clan Dragon lays in wait the Spanish Inquisition Krewe. We are a guild determined to show the Bookah just who are in charge of this great world...and it isnt the Eternal Dragons.

    Either way you go we offer companions on your journey, an email account if you want, TeamSpeak 3 for VOiP, full forum access, and a constant strive by myself and the krewe/guild to constantly improve.

    **Side Note**
    Guys at Ships please for the love that is your computer, dont use Skype to try and do communcations espcially during gaming. Look into Vent, TeamSpeak, or Mumble...Skype will be a HUGE resource hog as it isnt made to be a large VOiP program...more for small conferences

    In the event you haven't yet decided on a guild, I'd ask that you take a look at The Brotherhood <PvE/PvP/WvW>.

    Basics: We do a little bit of everything and really aim to have a lot of fun out of a game because that's why we play games. We want to fight through epic dungeons with epic monsters with an epic group to get to an epic boss that drops epic armor. Plain and simple. We want to fight in tough battles against tough opponents and emerge victorious. We want to attack, take, rebuild, and defend a keep in WvW. We want our enemies approaching the keep to see our flag flying on its flagposts and know that they are in for the fight of their lives because on the other side of those walls is The Brotherhood, and taking that keep will be the hardest thing they've ever had to do. Also, though our official Guild Time Zone is EST, we have members from ALL OVER the world already, and I want that to continue. It makes us a much deadlier force in WvW too.

    Why The Brotherhood?

    -We've got a fast-growing community. Enjin places us in the top 10 fastest growing Guild Wars 2 guilds using enjin, and that's a lot of guilds. In 2 weeks we gained about 45 members. We have hit the 50 member mark and intend on growing strong.
    - We've good a great structure. With a great leadership team, a great ranking system, and a great look at a Big Brother Program we intend to install shortly after launch, we're looking structurally strong.
    - We have Ventrilo and use it regularly.
    - We've got the content. Our web site speaks for itself. Take one look at it, and you'll know we mean business. I have been a leader of many clans/guilds in other MMOs, and never have I been a part of an organization that packs nearly this much content in a web site, especially in such a visually stunning and fun way. http://www.thebrotherhoodgw2.com
    - We're building a family, not a giant war machine. The problem in many massive guilds is that you feel like just another cog of the war machine. We don't want that to happen. With our Big Brother Program and our Ranking system, we intend on making sure every Brother and Sister feels like part of a family.
    - We have the perfect balance of elitist and teacher. We wanted to have restrictions on joining squads so that a bunch of lvl 1s aren't repping us in WvW, but we would NEVER want to prevent people from being a part of our community. The Big Brother Program will take the intro lvls (like say 1-30) with a Big Brother or Sister who will teach the new Brother or Sisters how the guild (and the game, for that matter) operates. This fulfills both the need to be elitist and the need to teach.

    If you're still interested, take a look at our short recruitment video (less than 3 minutes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jjI4...layer_embedded

    Or take a look at our web site:
    http://www.thebrotherhoodgw2.com

    I promise you won't regret it. Thanks for your time, and have a great day.
    High Council of The Brotherhood
