I need some help getting all the fun out of this game.

Hello, I have this game for a few months now and I really haven't got all the fun out of it. I do have a friend I play with, and I am really interested in MMOs. I've played WoW for a year or so, and I enjoyed that a lot. I also enjoyed Guild Wars 2, but after two months it started to bore me a lot, I got to around level 38 and then the game started getting boring to me. If anyone has some tips, like fun areas to play in, I'd like to hear. Thanks

You're going to have to invite me for some roleplaying fun when guesting is up, Robin.

Anyway, you kind of have to make your own fun in this game sometimes. Set a goal for yourself if you're that kind of person, or just wander around aimlessly pretending to be the guardian of Tyria. Dungeons are pretty fun and you might want to give them a shot as well. I believe Ascalonian Catacombs is the only one available at your level, but that's a good start.

I'm in a similar boat as the OP, this game would be much more fun If i was playing it with actual real life friends.

You can give your character a blue binoculars icon , which means "looking for group" , visible to others , if you open Contacts and right click on your own name. Sooner or later someone will invite you to join them.

Metrica province is always fun.

Find (keep looking till you do) a guild of likeminded people with voice comm. I would say that 95% of the time I'm in GW2, I am in vent with my guild. Coordinating our moves, talking smack, cracking up and generally having a good time. Unless our guild leader is on, he's mr. serious business man, we need to kill these invaders efficiently and then escort these dolyakls! (I kid, he's a good guy too) But all that adds to the fun for me. (though I was enjoying the WvW content anyway that just made it better)

I never understood people who differentiate between actual real life friends and online friends. I just don't get it. Maybe that's because I met my wife online. Many of my online friends have gone on to become real life friends, even though we're not local.

Find a guild of like minded people and have fun playing with them. What's the difference if you know them in real life or not?

Wait what? I have many online friends. I twice traveled to other states to meet some of them up and now we're good friends. However, until I met them, they were just some pretty cool people from the internet. There is a huge difference between people you interact face to face often and people you chat iwth on the internet. You can be anyone on the internet. Maybe I'm actually a 400 pound Polish guy that likes porcupines but just pretends he's a Bosnian dude that's kinda semi normal. I like all the fine people in my guild but they're....tier 2 friends lets call it.

However, I was responding to someone else who said he'd enjoy the game more if real life friends are playing. When you're playing with real life friends, they're not next to you, or in the same room. They're on their computers. So from the point of view of my post, the game should be just as enjoyable making some friends online and playing with them. Particularly if you're using voice chat.

I do agree somewhat that it shouldn't matter that much if it's IRL friends or online friends when you play the game; because I obviously only play with online friends as I said. But I do think there is A real difference between online and RL friends and depending on the person, they may be much less comfrotable with one than the other. Just because you and I don't have an issue with it others might.

Well, since I was responding to what the OP said, that he'd enjoy the game a lot more only if real life friends were playing, your response takes my response out of context. Also I don't know how old you are, but when you get to 40 and 50, the whole friends thing changes quite a bit. What was true of friendship in your early life changes, because people have lives and have less time for each other.

In theory, I'm closer to my online friends than any of my real life friends because I get to spend time with them. My real life friends, we're lucky if we get together once a month. Not really the place to debate it, but I could make a decent argument for online friends being superior to real life friends...depending on what your relationship centers around.
