Thread: I need some help getting all the fun out of this game.

Not to be the wet blanket, but really, the game may not be for you. It happens. I go through moods, play it lots, and leave it alone.

Belong to a decent guild, Friend I made through that guild, well him and I run maps together. We both have toons we dont play unless we are running together.

If we are not running maps, I work on a different toon, he does the same. Could be the toon your playing is not working for you. Try something that offers more of a challenge to you.

In the end, its your choice, if the game is not working for you, its time to play something else. No disrespect man, but asking others how to make the game more fun may be the writing on the wall its time to find a new game.

    That's mostly true, actually...but....

There are a lot of people who come from other games that have more of a breadcrumb trail or that have more defined goals, or are just better at hand-holding and so people who aren't used to this type of game don't find it fun...at first. There are plenty of people I know who didn't like the game originally and really like it now. Not everyone of course. I also know people who can't stand Guild Wars 2, even being given the information they'd need to enjoy it.

The problem is, people really do approach it like it's every other MMO and in many ways it's not. You see it on these forums all the time. People trying to make money in the marketplace by crafting, people trying to get to max level ASAP, people looking for raiding, or what have you. It's just a different kind of game, and some people need time to adjust to that.

That said, there's no guarantee the OP will be one of those people. lol

Also I don't know how old you are, but when you get to 40 and 50, the whole friends thing changes quite a bit. What was true of friendship in your early life changes, because people have lives and have less time for each other.

In theory, I'm closer to my online friends than any of my real life friends because I get to spend time with them. My real life friends, we're lucky if we get together once a month. Not really the place to debate it, but I could make a decent argument for online friends being superior to real life friends...depending on what your relationship centers around.
I agree with Vayne here. i have developed many long term relationships with people I have met in online video games. Ive stayed at their homes and they have visited me. In a lot of ways online friends are less maintenance then RL friends. I am also sure that everyone on this forum has 1 or more frineds who never played mmos that dont give two shits about the sweet new armour your hero got the night before. We've all learned who not to even mention these games in front of. And for mmo to be such a big part of your life and not be able to share those experiences with your RL friends, in a way your lying about who you are, To RL friends and family. Just think about that a moment.

    Rant Off
