    Warrior Suggestion

So I'm on a server where we just have been destroying the other severs in WvW. At the moment we own at least like 98% of the map. But I have been having trouble with my warrior now. When we go and take over locations, my warrior does great, I'm always charging in first, doing lots of damage, and using my shouts to support my team and my self. But recently I have started collecting Badges of Honor on the other maps. A lot of the times I am on my own to go get them, so I if encounter an enemy player I am usually pretty much screwed. Now, if its another warrior, or some type of melee weapon I am going up against, I usually can kick the other person's ass. But if I come up to a thief, a ranger, a Mesmer, or just anything with a range attack. I end up running away to survive. One time I walked up on a Mesmer and it was completely bullshit. He started spawning enemies around me, throwing conditions on me, and just running around, that way I couldn't hit him with my great sword. I was able to hit him with some charged attacks, but then I have to wait forever for those to recharge. ITS FUCKING BULLSHIT. Another time I encountered a thief and he just kept disappearing and was using the same strategy to run around me forcing me to chase him with a great sword. Now, you might say, just take out your bow or a rifle and use ranged attacks on them, but a warrior just does not use the attacks in the same way. I've also tried using a shield, but apparently arena net thinks you should only be able to hold it up for a few seconds and then wait forever to be able to use it again. Basically I think warriors should be exclusively be able to hold up a shield as long as they want too. But only if they have the shield out by itself. That way the warrior would still have a wait time to switch between weapons. It's kind of like having a riot shield in COD hahaha. But still just think about it, it would allow warriors to have a fair advantage when fighting someone with ranged attacks. And maybe after so many hits, the attacks start to some damage even though you are blocking. Just an idea.

Well I must say that I took my warrior into WvW this weekend for the first time (got him to lvl 20 and went in, he is now 26) and while I had difficulty soloing people (as in 1 on 1) I did pretty well in most other areas for being bumbed up.

I had a stand off with a thief for about 10 mins where he couldn't kill me and everytime I got close to killing him he would stealth and heal then come back lol. We kept going at it for close to 10 mins, while I was calling for help from my server, but they were busy doing something else lol, when 3 guys from the 3rd server show up and kills us both.

Thiefs and mesmers give everyone problems, because they can be annoying pricks. I use sword/axe and longbow on my warrior and alternating between I was able to get the thief down to under 25% health everytime he came for me, but I couldn't finish him lol.

Hhmmmmm....I might try that combo. And you are right, they are frustrating as hell. That's why I started working on my own now hahaha. I like using the thief more than the mesmer. It's so easy to kill mobs with pistol/pistol. And I haven't even unlocked the utility skills yet. They'll probably get nerfed.

Also, I learned a trick that can sometimes help. I save my stomp utility, and right when they go invisible I use it. It has worked, but only when they are close enough. I am getting better at fighting them, but I do best when I have my team with me.

Yes knockdown is a good way to mess up stealth guys provided you get lucky. My mesmer it doesn't hurt so much cause i can use my tele skill to get right back up, but my thief isn't so lucky, knock downs can really mess me up if I'm not ready.

Just note that if the thief is using dagger storm elite, knock down won't work.

I use GS and longbow and find the longbow awesome, just use your number 3 to do alot of damage, then 5 to stop them moving then switch to GS and go at them with number two. Can always use the bull rush aswell to knock them down for longer once the number 5 bow runs out and then 4 to cripple them.
Use your skills wisley and it's possible.

I do find theifs annoying, and I just can't deal with clone mesmers.

    Good advice there.

For mesmers it takes a little practice, but since my main is a mesmer I kind of have had a headstart in fighting them. The real key is to be able to tell which one is the orginial and use AOEs to take out the clones.

Quick note on telling which is the real one, when you first encounter him see what signets/buffs/food etc he is using, somethings transfer to clones somethings don't. Like in WvW the outmanned buff doesn't, neither do food buffs or weapon signet powerups (like bloodlust). Also clones don't dodge so if you lose him and you are looking for him the one that dodges or moves backwards (clones always turn they can't walk backwards) it lets you know which to go after.

Takes practice and even though I know what to look for I can lose my target and get messed up. Another important thing when attacking mesmers is DO NOT attack when they put confusion on you, that just hurts you lol, let it wear off or remove the condition. A few stacks of confusion won't kill you, but some mesmers can jack up 10-20 and that will take you down quick.
