wait really??? Did you go back and punch him? That sounds very shady, but without seeing your PC when you took it in I may be making a mistake.
I thought you built a custom computer? What are your PC specs? I wouldn't feel safe with a 300-350W PSU unless it was of top notch quality, like Seasonic. As your PC cost $500 i doubt that is the case.
You probably got a POS power supply the first and another the second time. Answer the above questions first, and I guess expect to buy a better PSU unit. Something 400+ watts.

I did build my PC, I just had a few parts checked by a professional first!
My specs are:
3.06 dual core ghz processor
Radeon HD 7700
4 gigs of ram
Also my PC didnt cost 500, the upgrades did.
In theory only a high-end gaming system should need more than 300W (e.g the component power usage in my i7/GTX 660 PC only total to about 280W), but it depends on how much power is available on the different voltage rails so people tend to go for larger ones to ensure they have enough.
UM you a retard or what?
A cheap 300 watt PSU probably 70% or so efficency that actually has 200 watts just saying I guess you have a 300 Watt PSU in your PC.
You and the chick with Gold teeth are tards I think my first post told him his PSU was bad lol get a life amatures.
LOL this fits U2 good.

i7-3770: 77W
GTX 660: 130W
SSD + HDD: 10W
Motherboard: 20-30W.
Total: about 250W, so actually less than I'd guessed before. I should really plug the power meter in and see how much it takes while playing games.
No, I don't. I was pointing out that even a fairly high-end system doesn't take huge amounts of power these days, so a low-end one doesn't need a hugely powerful PSU. Many people have far more PSU than they need.A cheap 300 watt PSU probably 70% or so efficency that actually has 200 watts just saying I guess you have a 300 Watt PSU in your PC.
BTW, you might want to try reading the forum guidelines.
So, I spent half an hour running through a few fairly intensive games (ARMA-2, SR3, GW2, Metro 2033) and the maximum power draw from the wall was 210W, which would be more like 180W internally. Which even surprised me, I thought it would be well over 200W... though I guess it explains why I can't even hear the fans when gaming.
Either way, a decent quality 300W PSU would be more than capable of supplying that.
I don't see why I needed to be insulted.
Anyway, it seems you need a new high quality PSU. I am not doubting the wattage your system draws, but rather the quality of the PSU unit. What is the make and model of your current PSU?
If you want to buy a new one, I usually refer to this for suggestions. I browse through until I find a trusted model on sale. PSU Tested/True OC Forums

Zerk, please. Whatever you have against skidawgz needs to stop. Name calling, being rude, or disrespectful is against the rules.
I get it, you have a different opinion on how to build computers and how to fix them. That's fine. But please be nice and take other peoples thoughts into consideration too.
Thanks.
