Help getting back into Guild Wars 2

The only friend of mine that actually likes GW2 doesn't like it anymore and him quitting has made me play less and less. He says that he would rather just plow through the story line and then completely do PvP which you can't do because there is a big level gap in between story quests. He says that is all grinding but if you do it right, it's not. Also he doesn't like how you need to have friends, whether in real life or in game, to have the most amount of fun on the game. What should I do to get him back into the game?

You can't get him back into the game. If it's not for him, it's not for him. Find a guild, make new friends, play the game. Have a great time. Don't try to make him play, just show him that you're having a great time, and that you don't need him to play to have that great time. He might come back if he sees you having fun. But trying to get someone to do something they don't enjoy is pretty much pointless. They'll resist harder and never come back.
