Almost every game that comes out on PC are just ports. That's why PC gamers get so angry, because we have these big expensive machines and we're stuck with games that use 8 year old tech.
Not that I mind personally, I mean I own every console too. I'm just sayin, consoles don't exactly push gaming to new limits. They're always technologically behind and because of that, always limiting in comparison. Game designers just make more money off consoles since more consumers would rather drop $200-$400ish for the current gen (when they release) compared to $900 for a PC.
That said. It's much better to have games that are designed well and have good gameplay compared to just being pretty and pushed to the edge graphically (like GW2 for example). It's a slippery slope either way you swing it.
