Guild Wars 2 NEVER said they were going to have Mounts because for reason they had gone over court because of it this I know because it was against another game I was in at the time where I heard how they had taken them to court over that mount bit. So only way they would be able to have ANY mounts in the game is if that game closed their doors and from what I see they would not have long sence that other game that took them to court is loseing their players.
Just posting what was told to me so if this is not right PLEASE dont blame me this was what was told to me.
Wait, that makes no sense..I don't think your information is correct. The game already has mounts. It will probably have more mounts. I can't immagine how anyone could have a legal argument against a game about having mounts or not. It doesn't pass the smell test at all.
You guys are getting worked up over nothing.
There will be no mounts in Guild Wars 2 in the coming expansion as per this thread.
Also, from a previous interview. There will be no mounts coming with the Flame and Frost story arc.
So this pointless arguing needs to stop. This game does not need mounts for a plethora of reasons. Will be there any other kind of traveling across long distances apart from asura gates (e.g. ship)?
Eric: Any of the major (non-capturable) waypoints that a player has unlocked can be travelled to regardless of the distance involved. Prices do vary depending on distance though, and asura gates are free, so a player might find it advantageous to use asura gates in some circumstances. Other than waypoints and asura gates, there will be no other methods of long distance travel such as mounts, ships, etc in Guild Wars 2 upon initial release.
Witches broomsticks have been in the game since October as part of the Halloween costume. They can hardly be considered mounts since if you get attacked you change back to your armor and they go no faster than you would on foot.
Um, sooo... The new update looks promising.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the guesting works. I'm curious about how they shake up the dailies and monthlies, though I really like the dailies now since I can easily complete them in an evening of playing time. I hope the new way they do it is also this accessible but maybe more interesting. I'm also curious to see what ascended gear looks like since I haven't done enough fractals to actually earn any ascended pieces yet. And, of course, the whole Flame & Frost story arc is kind of mysterious.
Looks like the baby quaggan backpacks are going to be popular. For my heroes, I'll be forgoing them since from an RP standpoint it's hard for me to see my main girl who is a commander of the Pact and a serious dragon slayer wandering the world wearing such an item, but I may change her history to include her, as a 6-year-old, wearing her baby quaggan backpack on her way to school in Divinity's Reach. lol
