PvP oriented daoc/shadowbane nostalgic LF Non-PvE guild.

Hello everyone,

I have been doing mmo's since 2001 starting with DaoC vanilla and since the closure of Shadowbane I have been game hoppin' to find something that suits my style.

Unfortunately once I tasted the sweet nectar of the excitement called DaoC RvR or Shadowbane's epic 3 day long raids, the post-wow era has been nothing short of dissapointment.

I am looking for a guild with players who are in the Eastern Time Zone with similar mindset about pvp.

I am completely turned off by the idea of gear progression and the word "dailies" and I am not interested in a guild who will be doing PvE raids. I would like to solely focus on WvWvW.

Playstyle: Support, ala DaoC bard. Preferably Mesmer, willing to adapt to Guilds needs (experienced as tanking and heals if necessary)
Voice: Able to use mic/teamspeak/mumble/vent
Playtime: I am able to play at work for leveling/chatting, and for competitive PvP I can login 6-10:30 pm US eastern on weekdays, and pretty much all time on weekends.
Experience:DaoC, Shadowbane, Horizons, WoW, EQ2, Eve Online, Planetarium, Aion, Rift, Darkfall, Warhammer Online, SWTOR.
Looking For: A dedicated WvWvW team with teamspeak, making a name for themselves on the server in PvP.

Keep in mind, there are no dedicated tank/healer/dps classes in GW2, so adaptability will be key to being a guild asset.

Hi Iseldiera, welcome to these forums. And as Ruse already remarked, note that in GW2 any profession is able to do tanking, support & dps, depending on the situation...

It is my understanding that while the classes will not be limited in the sense of the holy trinity, guilds and player groups will/might still have a division of labor so to speak among themselves (i.e. asking that mage to use mostly water for the healing stuff, rather than raining fireballs), thats why I have included that information in my post

If my way of thinking is not really whats going on in gw2, please do let me know :P

You're both right and wrong... players can indeed take on a certain role during combat (mainly depending on the weapon they have equipped), so they can indeed start the fight with that mage taking on the support role, but they can dynamically switch roles during combat to adjust to the situation. That mage could switch to fire magic to concentrate on ranged damage for a while, or he could change to earth magic, run to the forefront, and let the current tank retreat to the back to recover. The same applies to all other professions. So during one fight, every person can (and usually will) take on multiple roles, which makes battles a lot more dynamic than they used to be in classic mmos.

Also keep in mind that there are no target-specific support or healing skills, and the (non-self-)healing skills that are there are weaker than what you're used to in classic mmo's. People are mostly responsible for their own health, although they can get some healing effects by placing themselves within range of area-specific support skills.

A fellow former EQ 2 player, very nice! Sadly I will not be pitching Ship Happens to you. I think you would get bored with us. We're more layed back while you're more hardcore. Still, there are loads of guild on these forums. A lot of them are just as interested in WvWvW as you are so I'm sure you will find the perfect guild for you here.

Heretic is a guild that is currently composed of nine MMORPG players. Across each of us having 3-4 years in GW and WoW and having managed two highly populated and respected guilds, Spire and Catalyst Gaming. We are seasoned veterans.

Our aspirations are to make a serious PvP Guild that will compete at a high ranked PvP level. This guild is NOT for the light hearted. We will throw some PvE into the equation however PvP is our main focus at end game level.
