lol? I still don't know why you even brought up the story in the first place. I didn't instigate any of this. You're the most passive aggressive mod I've ever seen.

I brought it up, because you made this thread in my response to defending the writers. That's why. There's something in your head that can't even see that I agree there needs to be more depth, but I disagree who's the cause for the lack of depth. The real culprit here is game design. Several mistakes were made, in my opinion, including trying to tell the story of DE through the dungeons, which was really a bad move. They could have done much better with it, particularly because not everyone does dungeons.

There needs to be more depth to quest lines and I'm pretty sure some of that stuff will be added, but at the moment it's not...why? Because of the way the game is designed.

So I'm not blinding defending Anet here, I'm saying they made mistakes. I'm also saying the writers were writing pretty much what they were told to write. They don't get a lot of freedom in this environment. That, unfortunately, is the truth of writing on spec. You can only do as well as those who make the creative decisions allow.

Why do I get the feeling this thread is basically just going to be an endless argument between Fey and Vayne, as usual? Oh wait, it already is. Sigh, I don't know why you guys don't just post to each other in PM, because it's pretty much always just you two arguing about who's blind and who's dumb. Frankly I'm getting really tired of it.

This is silly. If i made a gw2 is poorly designed thread citing the same complaint fey made, vayne would redirect it to something else. Honestlyits a problem with both because obviously neither office worked well with each other or we wouldnt be discussing this.

Because he thinks someone has to always be right, and I just like to discuss points of view without a right or wrong answer.

Edit: Even though he agrees with me for the most part. It's like he wants to just argue for the sake of arguing. Instead of saying "I see what you mean. This is what I think" instead it's "YOU'RE WRONG".

And you know what? I don't back down to bullies.

You just like putting up the front of a flippant saint when you think someones argument becomes repetitious. You think he's stubborn and blind? Look at yourself. You've been on this forum talking to Vayne for quite a while now and you still draw him in, instigate, and keep the fingers pointing for as long as it suits your fancy. You place yourself on some high principled cloud and shout to those below how much you know about the world.

Part of a discussion or argument, if it's meant to be educational and not competitive, is to listen and meditate on the information. Learning in school is useless if all you do is say is "I know how school should be, so I don't need it." It's completely missing the good bits of information you could be scimming for, because you're never going to like or agree with everything someone says. There are extremely deep and useful pieces of information within everything, though, if you stop plugging your ears and going "lalalala" when you think something is dumb.

Anyway, it doesn't matter now since Vayne left the forums completely.

AS I sit here in hospital I decide to check in here and all I see are the same old arguments I saw months ago.

For games without your MC voiced? The idea has always been to project oneself as that character, something I always thought Vayne should enjoy from an immersion standpoint. After all its far better than having two human males with identical voices.

Gw2 wasn't the game I wanted it to be, for those enjoying it, kudos.

The fact remains that the story was and is as generic as any other mmo. The class are damn near carbon copies of others in the fantasy genre. And its not just gw, is all mmos

What? The main reason I kept responding to Vayne over all these months was out of hope that we could have a real conversation. I've said over and over that I don't care about being right or wrong. I called him blind because he failed to see that I was never trying to change his mind about something or get him to agree with me. He doesn't have to agree with me, I'm not trying to change his mind. I just put my thoughts out there. Which is the point of a FORUM. He can tell me that he disagrees with me, because he obviously has a different opinion. But that's different from repeatedly telling people their opinions are wrong.

This thread was is in no way meant to provoke or instigate anything. It was a comparison between three different RPGs and how in depth they are. And despite that he admittedly agrees with what I'm saying I get this as a first response?

When I wasn't even talking about story? Sucker punch out of no where, metaphorically speaking. Instead of saying "I don't agree", and then why he doesn't agree. It's always "You're wrong" "You don't know what you're talking about" etc etc. Which then provokes others to throw it back in his face. Which is what I did. And which is why he's spent the past 4-5 months doing nothing but arguing with people.
