The thing about Vayne is he makes it a goal to point out false or misleading facts for his own reasons. If a post is perfectly factual or positive then he doesn't usually bother with it. This is his main posting style here as of the last few months. I assume after all the "discussions" you've had together you noticed this style.
The point of a forum, at least this one, is to discuss things. Arguing will probably be involved at times, yes, but it needs to be constructive arguing. If you aren't learning anything from another persons arguments and you're both basically just ending up in the "Yes!", "No!" phase, then just call that particular argument quits because it's not going anywhere. There's a big difference in constructive arguments and pointless arguments. If you see an argument going in a circle or heading down the proverbial hill, then just stop arguing.
There's a lot of arguing over semantics in these threads about who said what, in what context, and with what words they used. It's grasping at all sorts of pointless words and sentences to make something more out of it than it really is.
The biggest thing that people always need to remember in a pointless argument, is to just walk away. There's no righteous ideal that needs to be defended on a gaming forum and they aren't going to hunt you down in real life. Always remember that it takes two to argue and if the other person continues to argue with someone who says nothing then they're the one with the problem. You have nothing to prove to the other people and you gain nothing by 'winning' and argument.
What lead to me saying this in the first place is that neither you nor Vayne seem to want to stop the pointless arguing. You just keep going and going until the thread dies through natural causes. You or he says something and the other one quotes him with a retort and the conversation becomes destructive from there. Neither of you refuse to walk away and act as if this is some sort of fight to the death in a code of honor. From how I see it, you're both arguing for the sake of arguing. You don't want to let him 'get away' with whatever it is you think he'll get away with. If it's tiresome for me to read, I imagine it's even more tiresome for both of you to write it. The arguments rarely add anything to think about because you're both too stubborn to listen to each other, lol.
Alas, I guess the arguments are finally over since Vayne left.
