Joining Guilds Mission Impossible

You would think for a game that had the name GUILD in the title they would make looking up guilds and joining them or even searching for them easy, instead they made it impossible, not only can I not look up any guilds whatsoever but I can't apply to them and can't see who's in them, short of running into them in the world somewhere and immediatly asking to join and being accepted its the worst guild joining system I've ever seen in any game. Please fix this guys, it's completely rediculous for this game to have the single worst guild system out of all the games.

You cant be desperate and just go around asking to be in people's guilds. You gotta go in a zone with a lot of people, have no clan tag, of course since you aren't in a guild. And then slay mobs like a badass. Pretty soon you will be filled with guild requests.

On this forum, along with the official and other unofficial forums, are Guild recruitment threads that guilds use to recruit. Guilds also tend to advertise in map chat in game trying to get more members. You can also post on the forums you are looking for a guild or even say in map chat that you are looking for a guild and you will get people inviting you.

Don't blame the game for not having something you yourself should do.

yeah^^, in fact, I'm guessing you really didn't try that long, it's not that hard to get in a guild if you just play the game and go around and start helping each other out.

You guys have missed the point completely, I wasn't trying to get into some random guild I had a specific guild that I was getting into, but short of them flat out inviting me there was no means by which to find them, or look them up. The issue here isn't that someone can't get in a guild, the issue is that it shouldn't be a massive inconvinient hassle to try to see which guilds are around in a game which is fully geared around guild play. This should have been on the agenda from day 1 and here it is a little ways into the game and there is still no way to search out guilds at all. I was one of the beta testers and when I was in beta I brought this issue up and a lot of other people were very upset because of this exact problem, they said they would fix it but clearly did nothing at all.

Ahh, so what you're looking for is a search function in the guild tab?

I don't think it's really necessary. I mean, don't they have a guild website or something? Surely you could find them on Google somehow and get hooked up again.

Oh I'm sure I could, find it in google or on the forums or somewhere else, but that's out of the game, and if a game is called guild wars every aspect of finding guilds should at the very least be in game, it would simply make the game better all around, that way people who wanted to join their friends guild wouldn't have to look on forums they could simply search for it in the search tab and click apply and then when they logged on they could accept them in or not

So you know what guild you want, but not how to apply.... ever thought of whispering one of their members in game and say "Hey how do I apply to join?" Or even asking in map chat how to join and I bet you'd get an answer if the guild you are wanting is a large one.

I think your taking the context of "Guild Wars" wrong.

I believe it has more to do with npc factions/story than actual "Guilds" of players. If Vayne was here, he would have the whole backstory/explaination for you. I dont have his knowledge base, but remember him mentioning this before.

So, with this in the right context, you cant claim that a "game called guild wars" should have the best guild tools, because that is out of the context.

I agree with the original poster, this game needs a search panel for guilds and for looking for a group. Yes we can use websites and such, but making the quality of life better within the game for 50% of the other people who don't use such things would be cool to have in the game.
