Cant watch the video at work, but I assume this is the Death Battle video? Where Superman owns Goku before and esp after he throws him into the sun?
I think it's a realistic analysis of a completely unrealistic set of skills. It is said that superman can "move planets"...that's not a scientifically possible feat for him, because even if he has the physical strenght to do it, all he would do it just destroy the plannet since he's just pushing it with his hands...so we have to pretend this is a thing because we're talking about comics/anime.
The whole (EXTREMELY BORING) concept of Superman is that he is OP. Random mental blocks? Pressure point attacks that I've really never sen him use? etc
In the end it's just comix and you can't really analyze any of it seriously...a guy that can survive something like 17 supernovas...please take the time to wrap your mind around that statement...17 supernovas is number beyond comprehension...should not feel or be impacted (like he always is) by a punch from various earth villains.
I mean, Doomsday can't fly, and anyone with even remote understanding of physics and Doomsdays powers would know he couldn't generate enough force to knock out/kill superman without destroying the entire planet and probably the solar system, yet he does manage to "kill him" in a story that is considered cannon. So it really depends on how you want to view it, because I'm certain SS4 goku at peak power can hit as hard as doomsday can because he does have the power to destroy planets.
So basically you're comparing the "cannon" of a charater that the creators (post 1986) made so he's basically unstoppable and OP to a guy whose creators wrote the story where Goku died several times. I expected Superman to win based on that alone before I even watched it, because based on some extreme numbers he does beat out Goku by a wide margin...however, that all depends on what numbers you chose...I felt Goku's powers progressed and were fairly consitant as far as cannon goes (what his strenght levels and skilsl were) while Supermans actions/reactions don't often match up with what he's supposed to be capable on paper.
In the end, I feel like they shortchanged Goku and made him look like a loon that would fight in a populated city and would like to start fights with people who don't want to...when he's the epitome of a fighter who wants a fair fight...heck he wished for boo to be reborn, then fought him, let him be, and then TRAINED him to both protect the earth and so he can have a real fight later...so it was a crappy representatin of him. Plus why would supes kill him at the end (I know it's a death battle) if we're sticking to cannon, when S tries to do everything he can not to kill his opponent, explain why Lex is still alive then.
Anywho, I didn't feel strong enough to post a reply comment to the video or anything, but since you brought it up here, I decided to post my thoughts.
If this is some other video...then lol my bad.
"Healing Comma".
I've always been a Marvel kinda-guy but I have a soft spot for Superman. And I love Goku because I mean, come on. He's Goku. But everyone over hypes Goku and his strength. I can think of a metric **** ton of characters that are obviously stronger than Goku that would have better chances against The Man of Steel.
Pretty sure it was more of a popularity battle than a probable one.
fight was pretty solid imo. although the setup and ending was out of cannon for the characters personalities, it pretty much did what it was meant to and that was end the arguement.
few points: "superman moved planets", he pulled them not pushed so the planets didn't get destroyed.
doomdays killed superman. FACT (one of my fav comics aswell), but the superman they used is the current version of him with a larger base power and technique/skill level.
true goku at ss4 would be stronger than doomsday - but sups has had years to get stronger.
in the end it was always going to be a 1 sided fight - the hero who can break all his upper limits to defeat evil vs the hero who has no upper limit and get strong aslong as there's sun light haha.
2 highlights of the fight:
Goku's solar flare attack restoring supes powers.
"another transformation, how many hair styles do you have?"
